Do you remember our media update some days ago? Good!

A couple of people complained that there is no real demo of our "swaying grass" feature, so Canuck sat down and decided to make one, just for you. This demo will be free to download at the end of week. We hope that you can hold on until then.

Registering is still needed to access our file section, BUT we will set it up on different hosts this time, in order to make it available to a wider group of people.

In the meantime you could join us in our irc channel, or visit our forums to chat with the dev's and give us your opinion/suggestion about the mod, because in the end you're the ones Dreamscape is made for.

It's been a while since our last public update, so we thought we would stop for a moment and say: "hi, were still very much alive and well" :p.

The mod has been more productive then ever, adding new content at a regular bases and de-bugging our internal alpha's has been the number one priority.

Codewise the mod has taken giant steps, wallwalking will never be the same again after you played with our alien, loadout menu's have been designed and made in game, minimap, camera, hud, it's all coming to place nicely. Player animations have been made from scratch and near completion. Weapons compiled, etc etc... Nothing but progress. As it should.

And now for some media:
Our second teamplayer "Quinn" has been made for quite some time, he will be the player model for the Rogues.

One of the vehicles you will be able to drive is this 2CV, it's already ingame and it's a lot of fun to drive around with :)

And an environment building for one of our maps.

With this post i would also like to ask if any weapon modelers/UV mappers are interrested in helping out a hand on that department, we would appriciate it very much. As you can see, Reason does one hell of a skinning job! But we need more weapons lined up for him to skin :p .

Thusfar this update, we post new content on our forums at a regular bases, feel free to drop by at www.off-limits.be for those sneak-peaks or a mature conversation *cough*.

We're in business! Welcome to the official HitchHiker mod website.

First off, I'd like to express our gratitude to hlgaming for hosting our site. Without their help, this site may have never been seen by anyone other than the development team.
Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. In the next several months we will be updating our site as the mod development progresses. We will keep you informed of any updates that will be coming in the near future, as well as letting you know when said update has been posted, so keep your eyes on our nifty little news section here.

Once you're caught up on our news, why not check out the "About" page, so you can get an idea about why you should be excited about our news section. There you will find out about characters, a little about the story, weapons and much more. Remember, the "About" page is just a teaser -- there's much more we haven't told you.

Also, be sure to check out our media section, where we'll be adding tons more screen shots, wallpapers, skins, signatures for you hardcore fans, models, videos and even audio clips, including sound effects, dialogue and music. It's a regular plethora of audio and visual delights!

Interested in who's behind the development of the HitchHiker mod, or are you interested in a position? If either of these applies to you, then you should check out the "Team" page. In the next little while, mini-biographies will be added for each team member so you can learn just how damn cool we are. You might even get to learn our real names; it'll be like meeting a celebrity ... sort of.

When you've had enough of our fabulous site (hard to imagine) then swing on by the forums where we'll be discussing everything from the mod to Spike Lee's latest "Joint" to even talk about Joan Rivers' plastic surgery. It'll be a great time had by all. You might even be graced by a developer's presence, so be on your best behavior ... or not ... we don't really care. There's just one rule: Make sure to read the forum's rules; thought I was going to say "have fun", didn't you?

Lastly, if you have any comments, suggestions or questions, be sure to drop us a line by clicking on the "Contact" page. We'll try our damndest to respond to any questions you have.

Well, that's it. There's a quick overview of everything we have to offer on this site. Be sure to come by often.

SO…
everyone is going “what the heck is happening with Hostile Intent: Phoenix Rising?”

Well here is the first update for you guys.
I know it has been a while since we posted some kind of news and I’m sorry for that.
We have been working hard here in the virtual office.

Mastermind has been quite busy during in his final year of university, but man, when he brings something to us he really brings it. He has released two simple game-play builds to the testers with some of the basic game rules included as well as functional objectives. These internal releases also have seen the addition of some of the weapon models.

Our modeling team has been hard at work. Dreadus, Biotek, and Talon have been hammering away at our weapon models and map models. Two additions have been made to our already great modeling staff. Book has joined us to assist as a tester and weapon animations. Julhelm has joined us as well to help in the player model portion of the design. He has been making excellent progress.

Our level designers are working their fingers to the bone. If you look at this post in our Hostile Intent: Phoenix Rising forum section, you can see some progress to an updated version of our map Croatia. This is being built as a playtest map right now since it is the definitive Hostile Intent map in my opinion. This map also has a great chance of being released with our first build or maybe even a public teaser beta of sorts when the time is ready.

We are still looking for some help here in the development team. Our level design team is in need of some help. We need texture artists in a bad way. What we need is some great people to help give us the “HI look” to the new mod. The HL2 textures make great placeholders right now but the custom content would be nice as well.

A small set of updates for Lost Coast has been released, but regardless it's size, it's always good to be on top of the ball:

Updates to Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and the Source Engine have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast

* Fixed a problem with commentary and the save/restore problem. A symptom of this problem would be combine soldiers standing with their arms outstretched

Source Engine

* Fixed a rare crash in the physics system
* Fixed command line error when trying to run maps that contain the characters '-' or '+'

I had a chance to sit down with LCWebmonks.com for my own modification, Flanders Fields. Here's what was posted on the Flanders site:

I had the chance to sit down with Stuart Konen of LCWebmonks.com to hammer out some information about Flanders Fields in a rather lengthy interview. Here's a snippit:

----------------------------------------------------
LCWebMonks [Stuart Konen]: Like most multiplayer war based modifications, you're leaning on the general player-class based combat scenarios. Can you give us a description of each class and its advantage on the battlefield?

John "Chief" Phillips: The most common player class will be the Infantryman. He carries a rifle, bayonet, as well as two grenades. There's nothing particularly special about the Infantryman, he's simply out there to achieve the objective
----------------------------------------------------

You can check out the entire interview here!

Happy Halloween to everyone!. First off, sorry about our absence, but real-life for the team has been getting in the way of the team (Damn real-life). But we are finally back, and as you may have noticed, the site has gotten a make-over, we also have a few pieces to show off.
Now, if you are new to The Storm of Steel, we are a Realistic World War 1 mod for Half-Life². If you want to learn more, check out the Information (Which I just rewrote, so everyone, new or old, should visit) page and others for more info about the mod.

Currently we are finishing up the modeling and redoing a few pieces. And El's Ypres is almost ready to show. The revised Design Document will be done and on the site in the coming week(s).

Now we have the Third and final update to the Stielgranate:

And the American-made Colt 1895, used by Canada.

Check back soon for another update (If any old images are showing up, just refresh the page).

Source: No More Room in Hell
As the chill winds blow through the leafless autumn trees one cannot help but think of Halloween, a time of year synonymous with the undead. To celebrate Halloween this year the team here at "No More Room in Hell" has put together a festive media release that happens to be our largest to date in terms of released weapons, gear, and concept artwork. So without further delay, let's see what we have to show today:

Many of you will notice that a fair number of the weapons selected for "No More Room in Hell" were inspired by such classic zombie movies as, Night of the Living Dead. All of the new models, along with a few old ones, have been added to the revised Models section of the website which is, as of today, back in business. All new models displayed in media releases will from now on will be added to this section of the website.

As an additional treat we have opened a brand new section on the website: Wallpaper. ReK0 has been kind enough to provide the artwork from his newest map concepts as wallpaper, which can be found in a wide variety of different sizes in the Wallpaper section. The maps showcased in the concept artwork are "The Harvest" and "Cabin Fever". Both maps are still in the initial development stages and hence the inspiring concept artwork ReK0 has been providing us to help bring these maps to life for our development staff.

In the mapping department, Dark has released several new screenshots from his current map, "Last Transit". As shown in our previous update, this map has evolved significantly since its original conception and the degree of improvement is there for everyone to see. Here are a few of those new screenshots:

Back to the topic of concept artwork ReK0 has, in addition to the wallpapers, created several new character concepts for both survivor and zombie character models. They have been added to his Artwork section of the website. The team has always felt that one of the key elements to creating a successful horror game experience is by having diversity through unique character designs. Therefore characters, both living and dead, will be modeled after men and women from a variety of different ages, ethnicities, and occupations. Our plans are to include as wide a range of zombies and survivors as possible for players to meet and kill. And we're not just talking about the zombies…

My own modification, Flanders Fields, has had another media release, this time of the three pistols that each officer class will carry:

On the left is the Webley Mk. VI, the Commonwealth sidearm. Frontrow and center is the Lebel M1892, the French revolver. On the right is the easy to remember Luger P.08.
