This year at the CPL (http://www.thecpl.com), CSBot will be the featured method of relaying live server statistics to spectators and enthusiasts on IRC. After an intense testing period, the CPL IRC officials selected CSBot as being the best HL-related scorebot. "After testing a variety of HL-related scorebots, we selected CSBot for our Counter-Strike reporting because it offers a diverse and comprehensive set of features with an intuitive, flexible user interface", said Jacob Ray, CPL's IRC Manager. During official gameplay, there will be a maximum of 8 instances of the bot running at any given time. Alternatively, fans and supporters will also be able to watch HLTV for all CPL gameplay coverage.

Launched June 1997, the CPL was the first organization to advance computer game competitions to the level of a professional sport. Today, the CPL is the global leader in competitive computer gaming, having held live tournaments on five continents. The CPL has also sanctioned a large number of qualifying tournaments held in over forty countries.

Originally inspired by TFCBot, CSBot was created in November 2001. It is one of the first server management utilities of its kind for the Half-Life modifications Counter-Strike, Natural-Selection, and Day-of-Defeat. One of CSBot's key features is its ability to transmit and publish live server statistics into any given IRC channel. Since it's release, it has become the standard for all Counter-Strike IRC spectators. UnitedAdmins would like to send out a special thanks to puzl for offering his programming abilities to the CSBot project.
