Hello, After a week or so of planning and getting everything ready we are finally ready to post some important news and a small media release.

First things first we recieved a PM from a mod called Detained: Oposing Force 2 and after all our chats we decided to merge into Oposing Force : Combine. We also have got our site up which our media release and other news will be posted at besides moddb www.newagestudios.net

We also have re-designed and revamped our current storyline to this;

Different Soldier, Different Army, Same Mission. Gordon Freeman.
In this modification you will take the place of a Combine Elite. Your role will be to lead combine forces into battle and in the aid to capture Freeman. You will crush all rebel forces in your way. You will also be able to see what its like to be a real combine officer doing their duties. You will have a high clearance level, so you can look around and see some things.
You will be able to drive an Armored Personnel Carrier (aka APC)
You will be able to use various weapons including the basic combine weapons, and any other good weapons we can come up with. (Possibly Manhacks)

It will follow the half-life 2 storyline but branch off into its own adventure. We will try to keep it as close to the Half-Life 2 story and are always open to new suggestions. Just post in our forum.

Now for the media release these are just a few concept maps not too much but it will satisfy the taste of some.

Map 01 - This is inside city 17 which you will start in, inside of a combine base where you will be breifed.

Map 02 - Will have all the vechials that the combine use and maybe a few never seen before

And thats about it! we will update you all shortly with more news as it comes and of course a better media release.

Eat, with the assistance of a few dexterous beavers, has fixed us all up with a four star culinary treat: chiefly, Crossover. Meanwhile, Ghroth, the man in charge of the aforementioned beavers' timbre, has been relentlessly churning out delights of the sonic variety. In a freak coincidence, these images and sounds have been found their way to our media section.

Unknown Worlds Entertainment is proud to announce the imminent release of Natural Selection 3.0.

March 4th, 2005: San Francisco, CA - After 1 year in development and over 300 fixes, tweaks and new features, Natural Selection 3.0 has been completed and will be available for download March 5th, 2005.

Natural Selection, a modification based off the Half-Life engine combines real time strategy (RTS) and first person shooter (FPS) elements to provide a unique multi-player team-based game play experience. With 2 years of history behind it, version 3.0 looks to be the most stable, feature rich and balanced version of Natural Selection yet. The Natural Selection team is committed to delivering a fast-paced gaming environment where even new players can contribute immediately to the overall teams benefit.

Natural Selection takes place in the future. Humanity has expanded out of it's own solar system and built colonies across space. After a significant period of success, communications between certain outposts and ships cease, and it’s discovered that an alien bacteria is infesting ships and taking control. Specific areas were hit harder than others but one particular reach of space, the Ariadne Arm, where the attacks by the Kharaa bacteria first were discovered, had to be contained by the global government in an attempt to quarantine the alien menace. While attempting to deal with public concern, the TSA is founded, (Trans Space Authority), and the TSA’s marines are dispatched to scout and eliminate the bacteria from what once belonged to mankind. What they learn upon their arrival is that it is not a simple bacterium, but an advanced life-form capable of rapid evolutions and using the same power supply the humans had been depending on to further grow and expand.

Natural Selection 3.0 includes 2 core game play types:

Classic:
A resource based RTS where both teams work towards the removal of their opponent. The TSA marines use a commander to direct individual units (actual players) to complete tasks and stage attacks upon alien strongholds. They use technology to further their goals and depend strongly on range-based weaponry.
The aliens are more independent and melee attack oriented. This requires that they be stealthy, as well as quick to close the gap and be able to attack the opponent and his base. Their nature based skills, upgrades and attacks work in stark contrast to the marines.

Combat:
Taking the basic tenants of Classic mode (including evolutions and
weaponry) and mixing it into a battle oriented (Death Match) style, Combat appeals to the player looking for quick and steady action. This mode features solitary objectives and much smaller environments to bring the action into a more compact space.

"Live" Update.

When we first began working on this mod, we had the idea of our first real update would be a good one and we feel we have achieved that. That being said let's get started.

First off we Have Kurai's maps.

Credits go to Kurai for making these awesome maps, Enix for the textures, and Lord Killmore for the hands in the prelim map.

Next we have our First "Completed" player model.

Credits go to TekniK for the Model/skin.
This model is currently in the process of being animated so look for it ingame soon.

And last but certainly not least, We have a Couple of ingame shots that Show off our hud.

The hud is still in it's early Wip stages but InternetNightmare has coded his rear off to get us this far. So let's have a big thank you to InternetNightmare.

We have one more announcement to make. Squishy has decided to join our team as well so let's all give Squishy a big round of cheers!!!

As you can see our mod is making progress but a lot of work remains to be done. On behalf of the SoK team I'd like to thank you for the support we've had and we assure you that we will continue to work as hard as we possibly can to bring you the best Game.
