Attention all: young, old, and anything in between alike:A slight change is underway for future updates involving the Dead6 brand. As it stands, we have decided to not release any future updates that showcase works in progress, aka WIPs. We came to this conclusion because we prefer to put our projects at a finished state before we show it off. We understand that you, the fans, would rather see everything we do the minute we get finished with something. I don't blame you; I think I'm hot just as much as you do. However, from our end, this is not practical. We want to finish this game, and finish it correctly. As much as we would love to show you everything, this would only take away from what time we truly have to work on Dead6.With that being said, this doesn't mean we have given up all updates for the future and gave the finger to every fan who cares to visit us. A few individuals, namely Espion, Kushan, and Hardstuff, discussed this matter with myself on our IRC channel. (irc.renevo.com:6668 #dead6) After working with these kind fans, we came to the conclusion that a weekly "Dead6: Are You Dead Yet?" update platform would be the best way to go.The following are the details that will make up the "Dead6: Are You Dead Yet?" update platform:1. Any old business will be brought up, and either updated on or concluded. This means anything left unanswered or unfinished from the previous update will be updated here.2. Any new business will be introduced. If we have anything new to put out about any progress, we will slap it right into your faces here. The chances of media content appearing here is slim to none, however. As I stated above, all media is to be withheld until it is reflecting finished criteria.3. Staff Member Inputs will be last. This will hold any information that any staff member has submitted to me that they would like to include in the update. This could be a shout out, a "Help, my dog ran away!" plea, or a "Oh yeah, I'm going to be doing this next on that one mod I work with" inclusion. Our first "Dead6: Are You Dead Yet?" update will be up tonight. Be expecting it then.Thank you for your time. You may now return to your regularly scheduled lives.
New Business:Well, here is the first Dead6: Are You Dead Yet. In these updates, I will share to you, the fans, what the team has been doing the past week and any information they would like to share with you. Since this is the first one of these updates, feel free to leave any suggestions for future updates. Now then, game updates. Currently, we are nearing the release of our first internal alpha test. Exciting indeed, especially to our alpha testers. This is what I (vloktboky) have been working hard on. There's just a few more tweaks that need to be worked out before it is ready. Dreamwraith has been finalizing his texture for our Xm109 rifle and our AK-74m assault rifle. Dan has been working hard on finishing up our Hummvee vehicle model, including unwrapping it. Kon_v2.0 has been preparing numerous concept drawings for a few buildings that will appear in our singleplayer and multiplayer gamemodes. Trust me guys, he's good at this; very nice art. Maimer, Exdeath7, and Permagrin have been finishing up their assigned weapon's models. They aren't just working on civilian weapons, either. Kirby098 and Cypher have been working on our single-player story line. They have also been working in many easter eggs for you guys. They're skilled; this story line fits in very nicely with Canon. You'll enjoy it, I assure you. Agent_Gibson has been working on implementing the suggestions given to us from our first preview of his BO9 Standard Trooper and Rifle Soldier. We'd like to thank you for these suggestions; they are very helpful. We apologize for deleting the topic asking for them from our news section; we did not mean to offend anyone in doing so. We felt we had obtained what we needed from it and wanted to fix the model instead of showcasing it more. Peanutt, MaliCE, and Slash0x have been working on their assigned maps for our Deathmatch multiplayer levels. You'll enjoy these. Dante's been busy with personal work-related matters. He'll be back. All other unmentioned staff members are working on other forms of criteria for internal use, and do not need to be mentioned. We need to keep some things secret! Some other New Business is staff changes. As you are aware, Slash0x has joined the team as a level designer. He created a map for Counter-Strike: Source that is on our RenEvo CSS Server 1's map list, de_gallery. It's very nice, and showcases his talents for designing Deathmatch-styled maps. You'll enjoy his work. Also, I have taken on the role of issuing our Dead6: Are You Dead Yet updates. If one is late, I am the one to castrate.Staff Member Inputs:vloktboky - This is how these updates will be laid out for here on out. Please give input if you like/don't like it.That's all that has happened this week. No, we are not dead yet.

The odyssey has finally come to an end. Oktagone our old and "former" reliable host suddenly "disappeared". We reacted by starting to look for alternative hosting services and after a lot of discussion and searching the internet we found a package that was affordable for us and also provided all the services we needed. A few days after we set up the website and forums this host also went bankrupt. Of course noone had the idea of telling the customers in advance and so the next server hosting our website went down the drain. That was enough for us. No more dependency! Now we are proud owner of our own virtual private server and can do whatever we want with it.The website is up and running again. We still have full backups of the old forums but felt like it was time for a fresh start.A few categories marked with (down) are currently not yet fully functional.A Live Chat is now available on our website. You can still donate to support Battle Grounds and the development of BG 1.0f.

Site is up. The game idea is in it’s infancy and is still being heavily planed. So far it is going to start out simple with a basic team death match. Later I will add more. I hope to have the main focus to be fun.I have to opposite problem most other mods starting out do, I am a coder in need of artist and mappers. I am looking for talented people to have creative freedom and submit good ideas. If you would like to help post on the forums or email me Apodysophilia@gmail.com.Basic ideaIt is a Desert world. Pillars of light from the sky are the only source of water. Water only is only found here and in great abundance. Constant war for the pillars of light between the outlanders and the assembly. Mix of Low end tech and high end tech found. The high tech is left from an old civilization that left/killed it self out. Things range from Home made guns/knives to very basic laser rifles and vehicles. Maybe basic body augmentations (e.g. arms, eyes, legs, lungs). Level DesignCharacter look
- Caves, with out water and with lots of water
- Maybe lush jungle
- Arabian Cities with high tech junk
- Lush Building, with lots of vegetation feed by technology
- Open dunes
- Maybe add heavy water irrigation. With both old and new ways.
- Ruins of an old tech city
I am in desperate need of:
- Beaten up old rags or Neat with beating up tech
- Gas mask like thing or some short of mouth covering thing
- Maybe Oxygen/Water tank
- Guns could be tan or rapped up in rags
- Guns could also be colored desert camo
- Goggles or other eyewear
- Maybe white eyes for some
- Character designers
- Modelers
- Skinners
- Sound Engineers
- Mappers
- Writers

We have started the development on the next patch, BrainBread v1.3. However, we have much to do at the moment with our new project and half the team has exams in the next few days so it might take a while. We will chose the user maps for the next version from this list. If you want your map to be in the official patch file you'll have to submit it here (please note that you can only edit your map if you use your forum name as the author). We won't consider the maps posted in the forum.

After the saturday episode, sorry about that again, the release is now targeted for monday, late afternoon. Once again, i would like to thank the community for thier emails offering webspace, servers, and file servers. I even got a email from Valve, offering assitance, which we will gladly take. So, monday is the day we will release. For those wondering, the downloads will be available in a muititude of formats, including BitTorrent. Servers will hopefully get the email to download the file tonight, and if you can send me back the file locations in email asap it would be appreciated it.I will announce a official time before i send out the servers. Thanks again.
