I'm sure everyone has been looking forward to hearing some news about the mod's progress, so I figured it was about time to start posting some. As many of you are aware the NMRiH team has been working hard to get new mod content publicized on the website so that we could show everyone what we have been doing for the past few months. It is only recently that we have managed to reach a point where we can finally start doing that. As with all begins I shall start by informing you that as of today the updated design document is nearing completion and as such we have finally updated the mod’s Gameplay and Features here on the website so that you can now have a taste of what is in store for you.In the next day or so we will also be updating the screenshots section as well as adding new sections to the website, such as a "Soundtrack" section to display some of the music that will be playing during the mod and a "Job" section from which we will be hiring new team members. Until that time please feel free to PM our mod team leader, Cs42886, here on the forums with any prospective applications.

We hope everyone is enjoying the Half-Life 2: Deathmatch contest winning maps that were released earlier this week. The next big Counter-Strike release is set to include two maps. The first map will be de_port, previously mentioned here. This map is set in a resupply port for outgoing ships. The gameplay is designed for a balanced layout employing a mix of long sightlines with cover and close quarters fighting environments. The second map will be a completely redone de_inferno, a historical favorite at CS tournaments and competions. We'll be releasing some screenshots or other media from both of these maps in the next week or two.
We also promised a sneak peek into work on Half-Life 2: Aftermath. Here is a shot from that, the continuation of Gordon Freeman’s adventures that we'll be releasing as an episode later this summer.

For the past 6 months or so, people have spoken about the Valve Anti-Cheat version 2 with great expectation and excitement. Lately its been announced that its going to be very effective, but the truth is different. It needs more work!Valve takes many precautions in their anti-cheat department, which leaves alot of people with nothing else then trying to figure it out themselves. They are notoriously silent about their system, and the argument that it would only give cheaters indications that will help them crack it could be valid, but its not. Cheat-developers almost knows more about the VAC system then Valve themselves, and keeping information will leave to nothing but faint rumours and peoples wild imagination. This means that steambans.com hasn’t been able to retrieve factual information on the system, but we have done some research. First, we established that changes came in the system along side the announcement that VAC2 beta will arrive soon. There was changes in server modules that suggested a rather significant change in parts that haven’t been changed in a long while (VAC - core hasn’t been changed since steam platform was initiated). Secondly reports that on selected servers, mainly CS:S servers people were forced to download additional information before connecting. Additional downloads that they were not required to do elsewhere on source servers, and downloads that most definatly wasnt due to custom content. ...
