"Makers of the great HL Mod, 'The Specialists' have released some inofmation regarding the release of their brand new, completely overhauled version 2.0...

Beta Testing is entering it's final stages, and hopes are the public will have 2.0 in their grasp within the next few weeks.

There will not be an upgrade from 1.5 to 2.0. Instead the team feels too much has changed, to call it the same game. Instead, think of 2.0 as 'The Specialists', and anything before that as a beta version. 2.0 comes packed with lots of new maps, 9 new weapons (like the sawed off shotgun), plenty new player models, and a lot more.

Check out all the info and screens at:

"The PAF would like to announce a new addition to the hosted sites area. We have added !http://nipper.punkassfraggers.com to house the site for an awesome mapper by the name of nipper.

Who is Nipper, you ask?

He is the mapper responsible for the Lord of the Rings map pack which has received tens of thousands of downloads and became one of the most downloaded CS map packs ever!

He is a very non conventional mapper with maps like:

- xmas_nipperhouse
Santa's sleigh has been stolen by terrorists who are using it to plant c4 under people's xmas-trees.

Other titles include:
- gahhhh
- de_plunder (a pirate ship adventure)
- jail_riot3 (CTs get a couple guns and knifes to help them break out of prison)
- laser_tron (An exact replica of the Laser Tron in my area. R_speeds are terrible, so don't DL unless you have a fast PC. It comes with POD waypoints)

Nipper creates maps for many CS mods including: CS, DOD, Sven-Coop, NS and others. We currently have Nipper maps on our main CS server and our NS server."

From them themselves the Punk Ass Fraggers:
A couple of weeks ago the PAF released it's newest add-on for Counter-Strike, The
server side plugin called the PAF HostiTron - Hostage Model Switcher.
Here we are a couple weeks later and a whole new version has been released. The original release required the use of MetaMod AND either AdminMod or AMXMod as well as a 3rd paert plugin called Stripper2.amx
The HostiTron has been rebuilt from the ground up and is now a stand alone MetaMod plugin.
We have added both Male and Female voices to the plugin with this release and made it so that you can have BOTH Male and Female hostages in the same map at the same time with their own unique voice.
We've also added the ability to use a simple config file for any map to specify the models you want for a specific map.
Setting up the HostiTron is a snap now. Upload a few files, add the .dll to the MetaMod/Plugins.ini and restart the server.
The CLIENT SIDE model pack has been totally re-done as well. We've changed the directory structure and added all the new sound files for the clients and still managed to reduce the file download size of the client side Model Pack.
Another cool thing is that with this release, we've now got the HostiTron totally Modular. This means it will NO LONGER over write any stock files or sounds. This way if you are playing on a non HostiTron enabled server, everything will be totally
normal, or if your on a HostiTron server, you get all the goods.
CS Server admins, you should give the HostiTron a try. And then come post your server IP Address in our HostiTron Server List.

Download the Client and Server packs at:

The SvenCo-op site has been updated with information on version 3.0's new
sound-replacement technology, complete with video footage.

The video is almost four and a half minutes in length, and demonstrates
many of the possibilities sound-replacement creates. A lot of features from
They Hunger Co-op are used as examples, so the video could be considered a
type of teaser trailer for that, as well.

SvenCo-op's sound-replacement system allows monsters, trains, items,
pushables... virtually anything, to use any set of sounds a mapper specifies.

Together with their existing mapping technologies (per-entity model
replacement, per-monster health, per-map skill config, etc.), this allows
mappers to add unique enemies to their maps without any programming.

A forum has been created on the SvenCo-op site for the release of Monster
Packs, compilations of all the models, sounds, and config files needed to
plug a custom monster into your map. Several packs are available already,
including an Archer Fish and a flamethrower-wielding robogrunt. Also
included are instructions on creating your own monster pack.

Citizen-132 Has Released their third Media Release today!

In it you will find lots of great new stuff.
They have included the way the mountains of Citizen-132 will be built, as well as a picture of Jack's wife in an early state. Also, New screens of the "A" monster are included, as well as some new ones of the "AA."

Also, check out part of their theme song! It was submitted by a fan (who was quickly hired), who will be doing our soundtrack. Look through the website while listening to the 2 minute track because it sets a great mood to the
rest of our story.

Keep watching for more updates from their team, and check out their interview at Half-Life 2 Central.
