Well I would like to officially welcome Turk back on the team; He is one of the hardest working modelers I have seen in a while. He was once part of the staff but left due to complications with another team member, so we are all very glad to have him back.

Now for the most important part of the update! WE HAVE NEW CARS! Without further delay, here they are:

Honda s2000 - Turk

BMW M3 - Agp1183

Also, we're still looking for Meshers, Skinners, and Texture Artists. Anybody interested should stop by the forums and post examples of your previous work! Or contact Cerutti[cerutti@highoctanemod.com].

Staff : Let’s get this interview rolling. So, as with most interviews, could you introduce your self and say what your job is regarding the mod?

PinFX : My name is Pin, and I'm leader of the Neoshock development team. I act as a director/manager for the project as a whole and also occupy the position of lead game designer.

Staff : How was the mod started? Was it just you that lead up to all of the members you have now, or have you guys previously worked on another mod?

PinFX : The team we started with had 4 individuals, all who had worked on the Unreal Tournament version of Neoshock.

Staff : Could you tell us a little more about the Unreal Tournament version?

PinFX : The Unreal Tournament version was never released. Considering the fact that we had no graphical team I guess it wasn't such a big surprise. Anyways, although it was not released, we managed to create a pretty fun deathmatch mod for UT. The HL2 Neoshock has just taken a completely different direction, and this time around the project is at least 100 times more ambitious. There was no storyline for the UT version, but we have lot more planned with the Half Life 2 team consisting of 5 writers and QA experts making sure everything comes together properly.

The bug from yesterday's release has been fixed, so a new version of the release is going out tonight.

This update is for all of the games currently on Steam. The specific changes are:
  • Changed HTTP download behavior to retry connections using old trickle download method if it can't download all files.

  • Fixed a crash bug when connecting to a dedicated server with an empty mapcycle.

  • Fixed a bug where MP3 volume wasn't working properly.

  • Fixed "STEAM UserID 0:0:1 is already in use on this server" message when connecting to LAN servers in offline mode.

  • Fixed memory leak in HLTV.

We've also fixed some issues in Steam:
  • Fixed bug where the Internet connection speed ("rate") was being improperly set to the default value of 1500, causing poor network performance for many users.

  • Games are now marked as ready for offline play when they reach 99.99% of cache loaded rather than 100% (fixed offline play not working for some people)

  • Added a "Do you want to restart now?" dialog when language settings are changed

Server admins should restart their servers to get updated.

It has arrived. Sorry for the inconvinience. Myself and Jac are both at the moment very busy. We are trying to bring you the best of DoD MSA community. However as some of you have noticed, things are alittle slow. Therefore in order to insure that the DoDEC remains the #1 download spot for custom models, we are looking for a helping hand. Please email either Jac or I if you are interested in becoming a member of the DoDEc staff.
