When Gabe Newell exclusively told our staff that Counter-Strike Source will be the multiplayer game for Half-Life 2, people are still asking, "What is source?"

Source is Valve's latest update for Counter-Strike. "Source" is named after the Half-Life 2 Engine. Counter-Strike Source is the new upcoming Half-Life 2 multiplayer. In addition, Team Fortress Classic, and Day of Defeat will also port to source. Just imagine these games with 2004 graphics and physics (which some of you have seen from the aztec Half-Life 2 demo). Get ready, it's coming soon!

Here comes the planned Wednesday Media update! Today we bring you two new pieces of concept art for Bloodthirst: the Vampire Lord and the slayer handgun. The Vampire Lord is a fearsome opponent who has lived much longer than any other vampire and as such possesses great wisdom and strength. Vampire Lords will be extremely fast and will be able to rip apart their enemies with bare hands. The second piece of concept is the slayer handgun. The gun has two main firing modes, standard and burst. The burst mode is an advanced mode that fires several bullets in a quick short burst. The slayers will be able to use two handguns simultaneously in dual mode.

No show for Wednesday night because we're stranded in the Bahamas. SexyJosh lost our airline tickets and Timmay can't find a charter plane to fly us back in time to make the Wednesday night show. It sure is a bummer that we're stuck here and with much sadness. I guess we'll try to make the best of it by staying here in the Bahamas another day. We'll be back for Thursday night's show!

We've got a small patch to remedy some of the problems that have been uncovered since the release. The most important fixes being for crashes, connection problems, and the rather strange shotgun behaviour.

Everyone will need to download this, whether you plan on running a server or just playing. As usual it comes for both Windows and Linux. You'll need to extract these files with the directory structure intact to your Firearms directory, which should be located at C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\SteamApps\\your_steam_account_name\\half-life\\firearms\\
Obviously, you'll need to insert your Steam account name in the relevant place.

It's likely that we'll have another update sometime in the next week or so.

Related: Spatial Fear
Spatial Fear is looking for Programmers, 3D Modelers/animators, Texture Artists, and Level designers. The team currently consists of 5 people, but they are in need of more. The team is looking for serious-minded people who want to join an established team and work towards the goal of securing a publishing deal. The immediate goal is to create a demo to show potential publishers. Spatial Fear will be a complete game experience using the HL2 engine. This will be a total conversion. It will have the atmosphere and tension of games like System Shock 2 and Alien vs. Predator, the fluid gameplay of HL, and the engrossing immersion of Deus Ex. If interested, Click Here.

I've got the hang of this detailed texture thing. Check the screens below to see the difference.

(i'm still tweaking the cobbles)

Further more we're NOT going to use the Tron system. It's got to many weak points. Kristof might make his own similar system after the release of the first version of the mod.
