We are proud to announce the release of Marine Bot 0.8 Beta. It's taken longer than we had hoped, but we got there in the end. There is full FA 2.9 support, along with a multitude of fixes, additions and tweaks. We also have much better waypoint support than we have done in the past.

A Linux version will follow in the next few days.

Congratualtions to everyone on the team, especially Frank and Drek for tirelessly chasing bugs and slackers repectively.

Hey guys, little progress update. Alot has been going on. Ive come here to post a pic of our grenade that got skinned by MrFu, and I think it looks great. The Japanese grenade is on its way to be skinned too.

In other news, we are updating our japanese player model. So far its been modelled and uvmapped by Badkarma158th, our newest member to the team. Soon it will be skinned by Trigger. Also the team has been debating the possibility of taking out ironsights after we fixed the ironsights bug. Post you opinion in the general discussion on the forums, should we keep ironsights? Or throw them out?

Very big update from the team at Natural Selection.
It's been awhile since the last news update, but that's only because there's so much happening in the world of NS. One big development is that Flayra finally moved to beautiful city of San Francisco, in order to get Unknown Worlds off the ground. NS is getting help from new team members (selected from the NS community) to continue improving NS while Flayra and others start working on the next game in the NS universe. We want NS to continue to be actively developed while we take the time we need to build a company and the next game, and in order for that to happen, we just need more people. With that, it's my pleasure to announce the following additions to the NS team:

Spencer "Voogru" MacDonald - Known from his NS mods and his community site, Spencer has been hacking Half-life and NS for years. Spencer will be fixing bugs and adding features.

Tom "ElvenThief" Grim - Known as "E-Th33ph" in the community, Tom is an experienced NS player, avid linux fan and IRC slave. Tom will be also be working on NS development along with Spencer.

Kanwei "#cri.ogenics" Li - Kanwei is another long-standing NS community member, and while still in highschool, has already begun professional web programming. His work can be seen at Portal Iraq, Newton Community Education and Newton North High School. He is also the author and maintainer of the NS damage simulator. Kanwei will be adding features to the main NS web site, as well as reworking the compete site for organizing competitive play.

If you see these guys online, please congratulate them on their new responsibilities, and treat them especially nicely (we all want them to be as productive as possible...).

In patch news, the team is hard at work on beta 5. We expect to have the ‘hitbox’ bug fixed (related to slot that player inhabited on server), along with resource tower/collision improvements, HLTV improvements and lots more. This patch will be mostly bug fixes, and we expect to release it Friday, July 23rd, in time for testing before the CPL. We are also hoping to have NS released officially on Steam (under “My Games” instead of “Third Party Games”) shortly thereafter. After NS is released on Steam, and some of the more pressing issues are taken care of, we’ll get back to adding new features to the game.

ClanBase NS Cup is drawing to a close! That's right, the Final is upon us after 46 teams battled it out to determine Europe's finest NS team two remain: bP from the UK and RaB from France. The game date, HLTV and shoutcast details will be announced very soon on the CupPage and live updates, as ever, will be brought to you at #naturalselection on QuakeNET (note that the official NS IRC channel is still #naturalselection on GamesNET).

Speaking of the CPL, we are expecting to have a big showing of NS there in the B.Y.O.C. at the end of this month! Flayra will be attending, and possibly giving a small seminar on lessons learned in NS and the future direction of the game and universe. He’ll be watching all the teams in action, and will be on-hand for questions and socializing. Just look for the guy carrying the laptop with the Fade on the back...

Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, and More Coming Soon

Valve Corporation today revealed a series of new games and features being added to the Valve Cybercafé Program over the coming months.

Effective immediately, subscribers of the Valve Cybercafe Program will receive a free license to use Xbox versions of Valve's games in their cafés, up to the number of active cybercafe subscriptions held in the Valve Cybercafe Program.

In similar fashion, Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2 will be added to the program for active subscribers in the Valve Cybercafe Program. These new games will be included as part of the regular monthly fee as soon as they are released.

"Valve has a long tradition of developing award-winning action games, online technologies and services for our individual customers," said Gabe Newell, Valve president and founder. "As we prepare for the launch of our next generation content and services, we are eager to extend that tradition to our Cybercafe partners by developing features and content that will make it easier to administer Valve games in a Cybercafe setting and provide compelling games for their customers. We are hoping to hear feedback from the Cybercafes so we can continue to improve the program and better understand how we can best support our subscribers."

In addition to the new games, Valve is also readying a Cybercafe License Server. Among other features, the Cybercafe License Server will allow café's to manage their licenses on a concurrent user basis, locally update individual computers on a café's local area network (reducing bandwidth needs for updates), and allow individual users with personal Steam accounts to access their account on any computer station located at a cybercafé site.

Active Valve Cybercafe Program subscribers receive access and a commercial license to use Valve games in their café (including Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Day of Defeat and Half-Life), access to upcoming new releases in the program such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source, free tournament licenses, promotional materials and priority customer service and support. To find out more information and subscribe today, please visit http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=cybercafes.

Well guys, it’s been a long time, lots has been done since the last news post. You are probably wondering what happened. Well my trusty computer died on me so I had no way of posting new. But at last I built a new computer and I am 100% operational now. But you did not come here to hear my life story did you. You want to know what’s up with you favorite game modification Jedi: Timeline. Well we can give you some of what we have been working on here. More to come soon. And don’t forget to keep checking back for details on the up and coming Jedi: Timeline contest. Some of the prizes in it will be Copies of FarCry, HL2 & C:Z stuff, and the grand prize of some really unique Star Wars stuff.
First thing your going to see here is the first in the line of Naboo model. You can see below here are the N-1 Starfighter, NB-1 Royal Bomber (Prototype), and the N-X Naboo Police Cruiser. Also you will see the Imperial Shuttle Craft. All 4 of the models here where modeled by the newest member of the JT staff Dinsum.

Next in the line of releases is some more great new art work for the talented Alti. First of the 4 images you see here is the Sith master that is going to be featured in the single player campaign. This character is a very mysterious Sith, no one will see what he truly looks like until you play the game. Next you can see a new carecter design of a un-known species of hunters. This one is a Sith assassin out to get you as you play thought the Single Player game. After that you will find a low level creature that will try to stop you from getting to your goal. And last but not least of the concept art is, the top Jedi master featured in our game. He will be the Yoda equivalent for our mod. You can see his full body concept here. We just thought it would be nice to show you what he will look like close up.

The last thing we are going to feature on this release is the first look into the Jedi: Timeline music. This is a sample of some music that will be faint in the background as you run around on a very open vast world of Korriban. Korriban is the center of the ancient Sith race
