Follow-Up to the Number One-Online Action Game Ships to Stores Worldwide March 23

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 25, 2004)- Vivendi Universal Games announced today that Counter-Strike™: Condition Zero™, the follow-up to the number-one on-line action game in the world, Counter-Strike will ship to retailers worldwide March 23, 2004.

Co-developed by Valve and Turtle Rock Studios, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero introduces a brand-new single-player experience to the Counter-Strike series, along with special enhancements for on-line play.

Powered by the Half-Life® engine, gamers will move through new and challenging single-player scenarios ranging from harsh jungle environments, artic terrains, deserts, and international city streets. In addition, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero offers a brand-new Career Mode that will take the player through progressively difficult matches alongside, and against, the Official Counter-Strike Bot. In this mode, the player will begin with limited access to A.I. teammates, items and weapons, but will earn increasingly sophisticated resources as he progresses up the ladder.

To wet the gaming fingertips of Counter-Strike fans, Valve has created 20 unique Counter-Strike: Condition Zero trading cards - two separate sets with 10 trading cards per set. Gamers can obtain a free set of these exclusive cards and guarantee their copy of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero by paying $10 towards their purchase at these participating retailers - EB, Gamestop, Best Buy, CompUSA, Hastings, BBY Canada, Future Shop, Multi-Micro and Amazon.com.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will be available March 23, 2004 for the PC with a suggested retail price of $39.99 and an ESRB "Mature" rating.
