Over the last few days, there have been many updates involving Steam. Here's the jist of what they have to offer us in the latter part of October:

Updates to the Steam Client have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Steam Client

* Fixed Purchase Wizard getting corrupt text when the back button was pressed
* Added ability for 3rd party Source Mods to have an icon in the games list, via an "icon" entry in their GameInfo.txt file. The icon filename is relative to games install directory and should be an uncompressed TGA 16x16 pixels in size
* Fixed small memory leak in core engine

Black Widow Games, a long time Half-Life MOD team, just annouced "They Hunger: Lost Souls" a Source-based follow up to their "They Hunger" series of games. Head on over to their site to get a look at what they've done so far.

Updates to Rag Doll Kung Fu have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

* online server list has many improvements, including search for friends, and various filters
* camera bug fixed (when you die, you can click to zoom to other players for differnt veiws)
* added a chat log
* mouse sensitivity now gets saved
* missing text bug fix
* open UDP ports problem fixed

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is now available for play for all Half-Life 2 owners.

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, a single-player level custom-created to showcase High-Dynamic Range lighting (HDR) in the Source engine, is available now to all owners of HL2. As a technology showcase, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast's system requirements are very high. During installation, Steam will prompt you if your system does not meet the recommended configuration.
