Not since a crash in 2001 and severe DDOS attacks in 2002 have we had the kind of downtime that has plagued us so far this month. Although we have been up for days, I wanted to feel more certain it was stable before sending this email. We have completed a fresh new install on entirely new hardware, theoretically there is no reason for further problems. The original cause of the downtime is attributed to hardware/partition corruption. Regardless of our RAID-1 setup it wasn't avoidable. I would rather not 'pass the blame', because what's done is done, but the length of downtime for the most part is at fault with the technicians of ThePlanet's datacenters. I no longer desire to defend their name after the experience I have now had with them over the past few months, let alone the last two weeks. While that may have seemed petty, I am giving you the only reason there is to give. I also ask you to continue your trust in us while we now consider options to yet again move to a new company.
I forgot to add to the last email that there will a server reboot shortly, and another sometime between today and tomorrow to install another hard drive. Hopefully it all goes smoothly :)
