Ok, with some time on our hands, we created the first concept of the first Stronghold the player will be controling and defending. This is a Roman Stronghold that was built on demand by Lord Caeser. You play the role of a legionare that was given full leadership of the Stronghold. Now without further adieu, here is the concept art.

VTF Explorer is a tool for viewing and extracting Source Engine format texture files (.vtf's - Valve Texture Files). Program allows you to view whole folder full of VTF's either from hard disk or .gcf file as a collection of thumbnails. You can view all frames, mip levels and cubemap faces of VTF files as well as read their flags. You can also use VTF Explorer to extract files from Steam's .gcf packages.

[version 1.1.2.2]

  • version 1.1 setup had supplied incorrect executable which disallowed to view anything from .gcf files. We are very sorry for the inconvience, everything was fixed in that release.

  • added summary of broken files, in Properties window of .gcf’s items. You can now read list of all files which weren’t fully downloaded by Steam to your .gcf file, just select folder inside a .gcf, click it’s properties, then Summary tab.

A leak of a model done by one of our exceptional modellers, Andrew Ley was released to Planet Halflife recently. We would like to advise everyone that has seen this that the model is by no means a final design but something he did in his spare time before joining the team. A big thanks to planet halflife for graciously removing the post. This leads me to another matter, we would like to ask that our fans to be vigilant and keep an eye out for any leaks and / or copies of work from our project. All the work done within Hull Breach is officially copyrighted once every 6 months so we urge people not to copy designs as it will make you and any project you work for look bad.

Also big respect goes out to the Defence Alliance Mod for another issue that was cleaned up quickly, it's nice to see other mature and friendly modders in the community. If you like the sound of HB, then go check out DA for the Unreal Tournament engine

On another tip, here's some recent texture work from Avionix Records created for Hull Breach and passed to FreshAir FM to play... atmosphere is the name of the game and yes we know it isn't music!
[DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE ON PHB'S WEBSITE]

To keep the media hungry here's a taster of the drop shipthat will be offloading our Alliance Soldiers on the first map Helldivers. Enjoy.

The Clash of the Ages team is glad announce the release of our newest creations to the gaming community. These include two new additions to the axe family which are the powerful War Axe and Heavy Double Axe. Work on the Opt 556 Assault Rifle has also been completed, part of our vast Modern weapons list. The VP70 model has been under major renovation and we are happy to reveal its final appearance as imagined and constructed by our lead artist, Maxx. The CotA soundtrack is well on its way with two new songs signed Dj Eau, titled "Iceshelf" and "Thermal". The modification is blossoming, and the team members are still working diligently on the project.

Related: Rebellion
Rebellion is a multiplayer modification for Half-Life 2 that is based on the week long insurrection against the Combine during the Half-Life 2 storyline.

There will be two gameplay modes implemented in the modification; cooperative and team based multiplayer. Both modes are based around assault and defense gameplay, where one team defends an objective from the other team. However, in cooperative play, the players will be the guerilla rebellion forces defending against the Combine forces. There will be a constant shortage of ammunition in cooperative mode, so the guerilla forces must use any obstacles and potential traps in the area to their advantage. In team based multiplayer, the two teams will be placed in their respective roles (assault and defense). Once one team completes the objective, the teams will switch and the other team will have to complete the objective faster than the other team. If the offensive team fails at any time, then the other team wins. If they win, then it switches again and the other team must beat the time set by the previous team.

In cooperative mode, there will be two classes -- medic and defender -- that the player may choose from. The medic will have the ability to heal as well as revive any nearby teammates (before the reinforcement timer runs down), but will not be able to carry the pulse rifle and the rocket launcher. The defender will be able to carry every weapon, but of course, cannot heal nor revive. The classes for the team based gameplay mode have yet to be determined, although we are leaning toward having no classes at all. Suggestions are welcome, of course.

The Combine forces in cooperative mode will always equal to double or triple the amount (or any other ratio that the server administrator wants) of the players in the game.

The levels will both be modeled after the existing HL2 campaign levels, as well as original Eastern European architectual design loosely based off of City 17. There will also be original level designs that will somehow relate to the Half-Life 2 universe.

Currently, we are looking for coders, mappers, and map modelers. If you are interested, contact Merc248, or hop on the Rebellion website and let us know.

A little later but here it is, this month's media release!

We've made a lot of progress with coding these past two months, several game modes are nearly complete and our melee combat system is slowly starting to take shape, hopefully we'll be releasing some early in game screens within the coming month.

As well as the media released here there are 3 extra screenshots of Drakir's stunning Tower Harbor map posted in our forums, although you do have to be registered to see them ;)

Credits on the images (concept art from Neil Blade, models from Skrewball and Justin Paplus, map screenshots from DaZz and Drakir)

One of our newest team members has just released a very useful tool to help the community modify the SOURCE engine with more ease. This tiny application adds a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to the processes found within the Source SDK.

"The gift I bring, (and being entirely too suspenseful) is a GUI utility for the Source model and texture compiling programs. It also has built in .QC and .VMT editors. In using this utility I assume you already know and understand the directory stucture for a MOD."

The file can be downloaded from this link or from within our Downloads section.

UPDATE: Version 1.1 is now available! Continued revisions of this application will be posted without notice.

I know many of you are wondering where we are as you haven't heard anything from us since our media release, but I am glad to tell you that we have been hard at work prepping for our second! Here you can see our recently reskinned level 2 cohort model. We are hoping to have the pistol and new shotgun complete shortly and in our next release. Keep watching this space!

Also, I know many of you have been asking about testing positions. There is information on our forums regarding how will we be choosing testers at this link.

Welcome to the relaunch of Dark Blood: Apocalypse Tomorrow for Half Life 2. Most of our site is online, but so much more content will be added in the days that are coming. So take a quick look to get a general feeling of our modification. Now onto the real update.

Below you will find a handful of Legion of Cause infantry concept art. You should get a general feeling how they feel. The more uniformed they look, the more higher up they are. The more basic or dirty/rugged they look, means they are probably just a mercenary working for Michaels.

We like to end this update with an amazing piece from our Audio Director, Dimitris. The clip is still a Rough Sketch but this should show you the already established talent within Dark Blood and the overall goal when it comes to Audio.

More media is available on Dark Blood's Website.
