Welcome to the opening of the Halloween 2005 Half-Life 2 mod. Some of you in the mod community remember the original one-map Half-Life Halloween mod I created in 2001, and even more of you have played the 2002 version I also made for Half-Life. The Halloween 2005 mod will take elements of the 2002 version and use the capabilities of the source engine to make an extended Halloween themed single-player HL2 mod with an new, indepth and original storyline. The style of game-play will be similar to that of GTA in that you are given tasks by characters to complete in other maps and return after completion to gain money, items, or to simply progress along the storyline. Learn more about the mod in the about section of this website.

We already have several members in the development team and are looking for more. Learn about the staff in the team section. To find out more about how to join the development team, click on join.

I’ve also added some preliminary images in the FAQ section. Most are works in progress.

For questions, consult the media. And to contact the development team, our email addresses are in our respective team member profiles.

Sourcre: The Survivors
The new site is up and all the files have been uploaded. I am very pleased I finally got a host for the website, and hopefully you all are too. I also have some word on the forum, the forum files are actually on the website, but they haven't been installed yet... and it's not as easy as one would think.

But in the meantime while you all are waiting, I have some media I'll post posting within the next few days. If you hop over there right now, you can check out the new baseball bat, as it has a texture on it now, and another wonderful Colt .45 render I just revieved from Lt. Hinkle. So bear with me, I almost have this all setup!

First of all, the good news. Welcome to Morgan, a fellow mod-leader and modeller working on WOTA mod which is looking very promising, you can find details over at: http://www.wotamod.com/siteindex/index.php

He will be doing a hell of alot of work for us.

Next, the bad news. Regrets :S

Tango Charlie (Mapper) and Methodical J (Modeller) leave us without so much as leaving something to show. It's cool, no hard feelings. Good luck in the future though guys.

Regards, Nemor.

Ok basically we, the E-Force team have got stuck in a rut so over the next 2-3 weeks, there will be no updates as the team will be discussing how we can improve the name, storyline, gameplay and overall design of the mod.

We feel that there are a few problems with the design of the mod so far so we're going to go over it with a fine tooth comb.

This does NOT mean we're dying, quite the opposite. This will make us stronger and more original than ever.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone but we WILL be back.

Regards, Nemor.

I thought that I would give everyone an update on how things are going. We have gotten alot of the groundwork done and are rapidly creating new content, thanks to all the new additions to the team. We are still looking for the following positions:
  • Sound Engineer/Artist (1-2)

  • Texture Artist (1-2) preferable if you have 3D knowledge

  • Modeler (to create bunkers and other items that will populate maps)

If you are interested in any of these positions send me and email with samples of your work (either as a link or images). You can reach me at chris@cblack.net

Here's an update for everyone. hi_cinemax_b4.bsp has practically been re-textured to the maximum, including a tonne of new models to go with it.
I have yet to test the map gameplay to 100%, which I hope to do soon, but this should be a final version for some time.

For those that didn't know, a really bad bug was found in MapUpdater which was stopping games from loading on boot-up. This bug was fixed with testing help from ifOnly, and since then I decided to add more features to the utility. I've just uploaded version 0.2.2.4 which now has a progress bar along with game 'last updated' statistics among other things (a lot of bug fixes and typos!)

Please note though, that if you currently have 0.2.2.3, then the MapUpdater auto-update and install feature for itself will not function at all (some new damn bug that was introduced). You will need to download and install it manually. If you have an version older than 0.2.2.3 then it should work fine. In older versions of MapUpdater, you can view the version on the Settings form.

This just in, hot off the press from our developers!! The Rahmos weapons and troops have at long last been put together. Have a look at the new and exciting renders from the Rahmos side. The Stormtroopers, the Heavy Machine Gunners and the City Guards are all completed.

As you can see, we’ve been hard at work, staying up late and working long hours to make this happen. We’d like to thank OmeVince for his hard work putting these 3D renders together. Tell us what you think..

Think you’ve got what it takes to help make this Mod reality? Then PROOVE IT. Send an email to info@irongrip.net , show us what you’ve got and we’ll put you on our team. We need mappers, skinners, and modellers. Stay tuned to the forum for information on magazine articles and future updates.

On Tuesday we began running an updated version of our hardware survey. So far, we've had over 600,000 unique responses. You can see the current results here.

Running surveys like this are extremely useful for us as developers, as it helps us to understand what kinds of technology decisions we can make as we continue to invest in the Source engine. It should also be useful for MOD developers to get an idea of what their audience looks like.

Next week we'll be releasing the three HL2DM map contest winners on Steam. The winners of the contest along with some images of the maps were first mentioned here. Also next week, we'll have a small sneak peak for you of the upcoming Half-Life 2 episode "Aftermath".
