The World Cyber Games is being held in Singapore this year, and it's looking like the best championship yet. One shock announcement has rocked the tournament though, and some are criticising it. Counter Strike Source is going to replace the world's most played online game, Counter Strike. This was always bound to happen, but no one thought this soon, CS 1.6 was thought of as a perfect multiplayer shooter, and CS:S was slammed for being flawed by many.
Whatever happens, we will keep you update in this part of the tournament, and be sure to check other FilesNetwork sies for other results for the other games, Warcraft 3 and co.
The National Championship is already underway, it started in March and will finish in October, and then the finals will be held from the 16th of November 2005, the 20th of November.

'EMB (European Military Biological Research Facility) was made because the strength of other nations was overwhelming the European Union in Military and Economic power. This was unknown to the public and other nations. Panic began to rise within the Union.
Contact had been lost with the facility for weeks. To not rise suspicion the government sent a 6 man squad in to check up on the facility. But they would soon lose contact with them as well. You, the captain of the squad must find a way out of the facility but as you try to escape you begin to find out the shocking truth of what really happened.'

Well at long last we've come to the point where there's no more secrecy. I think it's certainly all for the best. I suppose I'll stary by saying that the internal alpha is being made now. It's more of a graphical alpha since we don't have coders, or at least they've not started anything as of now. It should be a map - with our own jungle models and textures, the hud (maybe), a player, a few weapons, a few sounds. etc. For now - here's the raptor skin i've been working on as well as the socom I've just finished skinning:

New Talent - cheney

Our search for a Map Texture Artist has been at least partially fulfulled. Please give a hearty welcome to cheney, the newest addition to the FF team. He's quite talented and is a nice guy in general! And the FF mappers rejoiced.

Just a friendly reminder to check the Developer Journals if you're interested to see what we're working on and completing. The jolly FF dev team members are more consistently providing this sort of information, so visit frequently to get some satisfaction between media releases.

With All This Rain...

With all this rain we've been getting, our canals are nearly overflowing. The trepids tell me there's still some room for the water to rise, but if you don't trust them (and I know I sure don't) take a look for yourself:

Demo what?

dr_nick and rebo have an interesting relationship, but their efforts produce fruitful results. They need one another, as shown in the following dialog:

dr_nick: rebo, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole through your head. Remember that?
rebo: That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me.

As a result of dr_nick keeping rebo's head intact... here we have a quick and agile creator of massive explosions and devastation. I'm not talking about rebo, anymore; I'm talking about everyone's favorite demolition man:

Hello people, just trying to give somewhat of an update. Things have been slow recently. School coming to an end or ended for many of us. I would like everyone to give a "Thank You" to Monochromatic Stain for really taking charge and going above and beyong. This man can HUD, skin, and UVmap. Taught himself how to HUD and UVmap just to get some progess going. He is also working a full time job.

Ganj has also announced his return to be in June. He had an extremely rough time with his first year at college. I am sure he did well though. He is going on vacation till mid-June. At that time the game documents will be finalized. The design document is looking decent but I am thinking of just re-writing it.

Well I hope your school year is ending well. I cannot thank this community enough for what they have done for us. Untill next time. Peace.

Just like to post up a help wanted ad to help grow our mod. With all applications please send a link (or attach) examples of your work. If any of your work is too big for the file attachment please contact me and I will give you my MSN/ICQ info so that we can do the transfer then. You can reach me at chris@cblack.net

We are looking for the following positions:
  • Texture Artists Ability to help with the GUI is a definate bonus

  • Model Animators We are looking for a few to help animate everything from characters to markers and everything inbetween. It is a definate advantage if you are able to skin/rig models

  • Sound Engineers We are looking for people to help lessen to work load for our current engineer. We are looking specifically in the area of sound effects.

  • Modelers We are still looking for a few to help out with markers, environments props, characters. Bonus if can UV map and texture.

Well, welcome to another media update folks. Let's get the good details outta the way before we get to the other stuff.

First, we have the skin me and Leon have finalized for the Colt Python. It's still got some work to go on it, but ya know, progress progress progress. :)

Secondly, we have map updates from all three of us. There's two new screens of the Apartments from Leon. He's been wanting to do more but we've needed to have props done so he's working on those now along with new textures and the like. (we still need a dedicated prop modeler, by the way) However, these images are pretty spiff. The map's really coming together.

Next of course is Tequila's lovely Sewers. He's a real maniac, folks, I tell ya. He has his room painted and then goes and keeps kicking ass. He's also done with most of his schoolwork so he should be able to focus quite a lot. The stuff looks good. Very...red. So if you like the red on this site you'll love these pics. ;)

And of course, lastly, we got me, the insignificant one, with the Backalleys map. You guys wanted trash and junk clutter? You got it. There's a lot more to go with this one, but I'm plugging away with my horrible mapping skilz. Enjoy, folks.

Also, new team additions. We have a new concept artist by the name of Seph who's gonna be hammering out some kick-ass monsters. This guy's work is absolutely fucking incredible, people, you are going to love it. He's just busy with school at the moment.

And yes, we know, we have way too many "2d artists". We're working on getting more modelers and hopefully a coder.

Okay, now the final thing and probably the biggest. Although I'm sure those of you keeping track of the mod are VERY happy to see more stuff, I must regretfully inform you that this'll be the last update for awhile. I'm personally taking a vacation for 2 weeks so I'll be just not even touching this thing and then also we're getting to the point where we need to start doing more stuff internally that's behind the scenes. A lot of it is planning and you'll definitely see the fruits of it in another month or so, but it does mean we'll have to spend more time refining our intents and plans, getting new alliances made, learning new tricks, etc.

So, don't worry, this isn't a bad thing at all. Our drive is still fierce and strong. It's just that now we're going to be a little more private about our exploits, that's all. Don't worry, I'm giving Leon and Tequila the FTP info so they'll probably have some cool stuff to show in about a week or so. Check back then. :)

Much obliged. See ya in 2 weeks.
~Futsin.

P.S.
Post on our forums! You'll get exclusives there soon.
