We've finally completed all of our inital release weapons! We've added the fully skinned Remington 710 sniper rifle, the .44 Magnum and the RPG Launcher. We have also added a fully skinned Civilian Scout player model (the first of several variations), and for those of you with access to our forums, we have added the main theme for Forsaken here.

An additional mapper CrackerJack has also joined the team, and we are still actively looking for further mappers, so if you are interested please apply here.

We are also pleased to announce that internal development of Forsaken is going well and we are approaching the final stages of our alpha builds. After this we will be running a closed beta of Forsaken which we are now officially accepting applications for. If you are interested in beta-testing Forsaken, apply here.

Well if you haven’t noticed yet...we have a new staff member now posting news, JMR. I would like to thank him for all of his hard work so far. He has been posting a lot this week which is a big help because I had my final exams this entire week. Now that those are over I need to concentrate on this video I have been working on for a party next week. I will most likely not be posting much if not anything until next week. It is taking around eight hours to render 5 min of video...the entire video is 60 and I really cant use my computer while it is doing this.

I hope to start this summer some more reviews of mods, maps, and other things along with interviews and such. This summer the edgenetwork and hlgaming.com will be launching a few new services for our hosted sites that will allow for much easier mod development. More information will come as I receive it.

Until then, do not be afraid to post in the forums...if you guys and gals start to post more, others will follow.

The newest addition to our team is InSaNeO who will be working on weapon skins and other textures. We are highly pleased that we have finally found a motivated member for this job - welcome in the team!

Cosmo has spared no effort to model and skin mapobjects. You can see some of them in the screenshots coming straight out of the game. Apart from the light switch and a destroyed door handle Cosmo has created the one and only HEAT extinguisher!

More models are already in the works.

The code is being prepared for our next playtest. We are planing to inaugurate our linux dedicated server this time.

The D.E.A.D. team is on the lookout for a few "D.E.A.D"-icated team members in many positions. If you're interested in contacting them, shoot an email to team@deadmod.com. You can learn more at the D.E.A.D. website.

Just a little update. Opi has joined as our Lead Coder for the mod. Maps are underway with DJ-Ready and Perin along with Leppycorn. Simps is touching up the models and has begun work on the player models.

Our goal is to have a ALPHA with some of the weapons and one player model and work the "hand 2 hand combat" system to death before we ad it all and get over worked.

We are working on more map models and will show them soon. I just want to thank everyone for ideas and support and for watching the mod on our modDB.com profile.

See what's next for Gordon and friends in this PC Gamer preview. I don't have much to say about it. If you don't have time to read it all, just look at the pictures and read the captions, they're good enough.

There is also a lot of information about the soon-to-be-released online multiplayer Half-Life 2 mod, Day of Defeat, which was a mod of the previous version, but now it comes with the benefits of the Source engine... yum.

Thanks to Rappo at The Mod Shack for the heads up.

SourceForts version 2.0.0 is coming along nicely, with several new maps in development and some major gameplay enhancements planned following the first phase of beta-testing.

We are now recruiting experienced weapon and character modellers to work on new art for v2. Applicants should e-mail James Freedman at jlf@seascape.uk.net with details of previous experience.

Sheesh, when I told you guys that there'd be an update later, I didn't know that it'd be later today.

However, I didn't count on the fact that G.o.DD. is insane and has been working on this project since before he was officially on the team!

Ok, ok...I'm just talking now, and now without further ado...the first in-game screenshots from Epicenter (keep in mind that these are WIP shots from a tech test map that G.o.DD. is working on for us)!
