Well, a mini update for ya'll today. So I'll get right down to it. Progress wise, things have been going well, and a lot has picked up recently. This past week we have worked out a lot the kinks that were keeping us from getting things in game, so we've been rapidly making up for lost time getting content in.

Our mappers are also doing well, we have a variety of maps that are just about ready for serious testing on our part. And, of course, our coders are still plugging away, getting systems up and running.

So now it's time for our little “dev team member of the update.” This update, I'd like to recognize George, our animator, for all the tedious work he's done to get our weapons ready for importing.

So what hasn't been covered in this update? Ah yes, media. We do have some media... however it's locked away in the vaults of the Media and Artwork forum. (You need to be registered with our forums to view it).

When will we be releasing screenshots? We're currently waiting to release screenshots until we have more of our final HUD elements in. So don't worry, you'll have your screenshots soon enough! (Now, if you want to speed the process along a bit... PM -- 04 -- in the forums to, uh, “encourage” him.*wink* )

And finally, we are, of course, accepting applications for all positions. If you're interested in getting involved in the mod, please fill out an application here (Please also read the disclaimer)

So, I guess that's all for now. Just want to let ya'll know that I won't be around for the next 10 days, I'll be touring Italy (\\o/). So for any e-mails, applications, etc, don't expect a response until Friday the 8th.

-SidewinderX, out.

Source: Samurai Legends
A week ago Samurai Legends was shown, for the first time, to the public and the gaming industry at The Guildhall Student Exhibition. It was a rousing success and even Gabe Newell (yes, the founder of Valve itself) was on hand to see it! We were all very excited about people’s reactions and will, as planned, be launching our Closed Beta test this week!

However, we don’t want to forget about those of you who are patiently waiting for our Open Beta release and so we’ll be rolling out a new series of videos throughout Closed Beta. These videos, combined with the video we released last week, make up the 20 minute trailer we had running during our show and thus will include not just lots of gameplay but a full tutorial on how to play the game. So stay tuned as all our secrets will be revealed.

So thanks for your interest everyone and stay tuned. It’s an exciting time as the first stage of our release has begun!

It's been a long time coming... But here it is.

Due to this being the Summer holidays, end of term exams and such progress is pretty slow, but theres still people working on through the holidays, giving up their free time to bring you these...

First of all, our first character by ISAMU, which is very nearly finished. Just some finishing touches required then it's ready for skin/animation.

Also, I'll take this opportunity to let the community know we still seek dedicated members with the following skills:

Mappers
Skinners
Texture Artists
Concept Artists

Feel free to e-mail me at williamrussell@btinternet.com or use our join page here: http://www.eforcemod.net/index.php?section=team&page=join if you're in any way interested in taking part.

Regards, Nemor.

Source: D.E.A.D.
D.E.A.D would like to let everyone know we released this media release along side the release of George A. Romero's new film Land of the Dead to honor the man who made this genre so famous and we wish his new film the best of luck at the box office.

We have released concept art of a few of our character designs and 4 new screens of one of our maps by DjBourgeoisie & 1 track from our mods sound track, titled "Get Ready!!", created by our own SoopaFlyYT from PunkAssFraggers.com

You can download "Get Ready!!" right HERE (around 5 minutes long, looped)

Here are some screens:

To manually download the media release with all the images and files, click HERE (10mb)

We are also looking for more modelers, player, weapon and world prop (UV mapping knowledge is a plus but not required), along with a couple more tallented mappers, if your interested in filling those spots then register on our forums or send an email to team@deadmod.com (be sure to include samples of your work)

Also as you may notice most of our website is incomplete, we are looking for a webdesigner to help us finish the website and help us fix the current bugs in this one, if you would like to be the webdesigner for the D.E.A.D then please contact us at the email above or post in our forums.

Thanks and we'll see you next month!

HLstatsX - an extended and enhanced version of the popular HLstats - has recently been made available for downloading. The good news, it comes along with a lot of cool features like full support of the source-engine, live-stats at websites _and_ within the game. It offers auto-team balancing, hitzone analyzes and many more.

The download, installation help, support forum and all features can be found at www.hlstatsx.com

Just go and check it out. An online demonstration can be found at www.statsme.de and the three CS:Source servers monitored there.

Source; Iron Grip
First results coming in! We have acquired a new Character modeler who is going to shape up and redo all our existing ones and finish off the rest!
He is a Brazilian guy called Rodrigo Banzato. His first model for us was a redo of Marcus Tylios.

Internal tests are going well with AI vehicles integrated. Expect more screenshots to come soon. Meanwhile one of our concept artists, Frank Walls has completed his Iron Grip : The Oppression artwork, which we would also like to show you :

Stay tuned as more is soon to come!

We have a new model update for you today, and today we see renders of Punchi's Capsul and Capsul Case models, head over to the Capsul's thread to give your crits and comments, and to see larger versions of the below images, as usual.

We are still looking for some able bodied mappers and character modelers (NPC/Monster Characters, not just DBZ Characters), so if you think you have what it takes you can email me at nagash@dragonballsource.com or use our forums to show off your work. Please note, you MUST show exaples of work or you will not be considered.

Source: Dystopia
ModDB.com have posted up an indepth interview I recently completed for them. In the interview I'm asked about everything from my favourite gameplay situation in Dystopia to what makes our game unique, it also touches on some of the history of the project. Here's a slice:
modDB: Describe the best feature in the mod in your opinion? What should the person look for that they might miss?

Fuzzy: The interaction between players involved in fire fights in the real world and players who are hacking in cyberspace. For example; in a section of the level Vaccine, real world players on the Punk team have their progress through the map stopped by two turrets mounted on the ceiling. They have a range of options; physically shooting the turrets until they're destroyed, which will result in them taking some damage. Or, more preferably, they can request their hacker take the turrets offline. Better yet, the hacker can hack the turrets so they target the Corp players rather than his team mates.

Along with the interview we provided them with 4 exclusive screenshots, taken during a recent Dystopia play test session. Head over to ModDB and check them out!
