Source: Incoming Source

Another weekly update from Incoming Source, this time showcasing their map inm_strike, quite possibly their best map to date. This large map takes place in the hillside with a placid lake, and a calm river (which flows offmap) nearby. The is a bridge going over a small canyon along with a base in the mountains, and another base near the head of the lake.

We also get a sneek peek at the new concept art entitled "War on an Epic Scale."

There is also a contest going on at Incoming Source for those of you with artistic talents. For more information, head over to their site!

Giovanni from the HoB development team has sent word of their unskinned weapon models, and even their finished German infantry model.

You can expect to see skins on these any day now, so be sure to keep your eyes open for this up and coming WW2 modification!

I'd just like to take these few minutes before I have to run out the door chasing after the bus to tell mod leaders and everyone alike the format we'd like you to send your news in.

I notice a lot of you simply copy and paste the news directly off of your page, with your own formatting, links, and the like. This creates a more difficult job for me, as I have to sift through everything, remove the images, upload them myself, then re-do the news itself.

Also, try and refrain from using slang or cute words, like "beu-tee-ful", and "cre-ate-tiv-ah-tea"... it's very confusing.

Lastly, be as descriptive as you possibly can, with all the information I need to know right on hand. The news, links to your images (not formatted links, just the browser path), any links to features, forums, or anything you'd like mentioned relative to the news post.

Tell me the full name of the modification as well, so as I know what to call you (example, my modification is THE Somme Valley, not just Somme Valley). Give a one line description of the mod as well, such as "A WW1 modification for Half-Life 2", or "A Cyberpunk Half-Life 2 Mod".

Most importantly, keep that news rolling in! You can submit all of your news to news@hlgaming.com, and I will post it as soon as I'm available, which is faster when all of the above is followed.

Lastly, if you would like an interview with the HLGaming staff, or a feature article written about your project, e-mail me at chief@hlgaming.com telling me why you think your project should get a feature written, as well as any information or media you would like to present during the feature.

Thanks everyone, and keep gaming!

Source: Dreamspace

Our friends at modDB has had a chance to sit down with the developers from the Dreamspace modification, and ask some bang-up questions, which shed new light on the modification, and it's features.

modDB: What kind of weapons can we expect to see in the final release?

Cyanide: Like Led said, you can expect to see a variety of weapons, including pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, sniper rifles, knives, and various other melee weapons. You can even use your own body as a weapon.

Led Kardova: We’re planning to have a lovely array of pistols due to their ease of concealment, with nearly every variation of a handgun added, automatic pistols, Magnums, 45’s, 9mm, compact SMGs and shotguns, as well as not so compact rifles. You’ll be seeing some of your old favorites, and some things you probably haven’t seen before. Personally, I’m a big fan of the melee weapons, screw drivers, hammers (regular and sledge), pens, fire axes, various knives and sharp objects, tazers, and explosive devices. I think my favorite would have to be a plastic bag for suffocating, I think I’m way too amused by it. We have a giant list of potential melee weapons that we have to filter through; I mean almost anything in a room can be used as a weapon.

Canuck: We’re going to have your typical weapons, but we’re also going to add some interesting weapons that you will only be able to get from certain NPC sellers.

Despite the obvious good progress of the mod, they're still searching for some key players to speed along the modification. They're currently recruiting 1 Mapping, 1 Character Design, and 1 Machinima Artist position, and if you're interested, you can head over to their Forums to apply.

You can read the rest of the interview by going here.

Adam "amckern" Mckern has e-mailed me this morning, saying that the former ZHLT.tk domain is not working properly as a result of a web site upgrade not linking properly. However, that isn't the end of ZHLT Tools, you can still access the downloads page by clicking here!

For starters, the staff at GameSurge Radio (#gamesurgeradio, irc.gamesurge.net) will be interviewing our own Kelly 'Dospac' Dickinson this coming Wednesday (October 5th) at 7PM PST (10PM EST, 2AM GMT).
