Here is some news from planethalflife and things that i have been hearing myself.

  • Half-Life 2 is scheduled for a September 30th release.
  • Yes, you're still Gordon Freeman, and yes, the story assumes you went to work for the G-Man.
  • Half-Life 2 takes place in a European city called "City 17."
  • Headcrabs will be back! Although some of the Xen aliens will be your friends?
  • Barney is back. And so is Half-Life's original writer, Marc Laidlaw.
  • While the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to work on lower-end machines. Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended.
  • The girl in the promo art is named Alyx, a daughter of a scientist who factors into the story somehow. She's not playable.
  • Scripted Sequences will be more interactive.
  • Half-Life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending.

If you have any news please send it using the link above

It is now official that there is a Half-Life 2 and will be showing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (Valve's Doug Lombardi). This is the first official (that we know of) saying from Valve that there will be a Half-Life 2. I know the community will be verry anxious this year. It is scheduled to be release sometime this year at a date not yet known. (Gamer.nl). All I am wondering is if I can get tickets  I will keep you updated as things unfold.
UPDATE:
We will get more informations soon. We are not too sure when the SDK will come out and such

HomeLAN has interviewed the official CS bot maker, Michael Booth, about the bots he made for Counter-Strike. Here is a small amount of the interview:

HomeLAN - What were the main goals in creating a bot that can realistically play Counter-Strike offline?

Michael Booth - The primary goal was to allow people to enjoy the Counter-Strike experience by themselves, without requiring other players or a network connection. This allows players who are new to Counter-Strike, or who don't enjoy the ultra-competitive nature of the online community, the ability to play this addictive game on their own terms [...].
