Half-Life 2 is now the most anticipated game of this year. With its “movie studio” quality graphics to it new physics system there is no doubt why. This will be talked about for years to come just like the first.

When the first Half-Life came out it re-defined the way games are made. With a relatively easy was to make modifications it became very popular to programmers and alike. The SDK did not come out until after the game was released. This time the SDK will be released prior to the game. This will allow modders to get a head start on making valuable additions to the game.

Mods are what kept HL thriving throughout the years. When Team Fortress was ported to the HL engine it game a new life to the game. Then with the release of Counter –Strike, once again redefined how HL has affected the gamming community.

We have not heard about TF2 (or whatever it is called now) for a few years. Will valve finally release the game as a mod for HL2 or will it be something else? We will just have to be patient and wait to see.

The new Source Engine will be able to support almost anything that you can think of, from an air combat mod to a Boxing mod. The uses of this engine are unlimited.

When we found out about HL2, we all wanted information, and we wanted it fast. The PC Gamer magazine article was leaked all over the internet. We later found out that the game would be shown at the 2003 E3 event in LA. This gave us videos from GameSpy and other websites.

With the new graphics you will want a high-end (newish) computer. It will still run on a 700 MHz computer but to get the full experience you will want a great rig. Even this news poster will have to get a new computer.

With the new HL2 section launching on hlgaming.com you will be bombarded with new and old information for HL2. Information might come slowly or rather fast but no matter what the speed, you will get the information. We will be also starting a mailing list for news updates from the site. If it is possible we will try to get an interview with one of the Valve staff members about the game. If you have any information that regards the Half-Life series please drop us a line at news@hlgaming.com or on IRC at irc.gamesnet.net #hlgaming.com.

We just got a new website design that resembles the rest of the network sites. This has been done so that users can access all sites in a very easy way. We will soon be add some more items to the site so just hold on.
Update:
Also due to the bigger banner ad :) there are no more popups with the bigger banner so be happy.
