This is Adam "Steelwind" Sinclair from the World War 2 mod Resistance and Liberation (www.resistanceandliberation.com). Coming up on August 1st our team will be publically announcing our mod for HL2. However this update won't be simply a paragraph about the mod. In fact we have nearly 50 pieces of media that will be uploaded to our site Friday night. Every single weapon for the mod has been modelled and skinned. Four player models are modelled and skinned. We have three player model animations, and about four to five weapon animations. Typically an update of this magnitude is unheard of from a mod team. We'd like to ask that you post news of our update on your site either late Friday night or Saturday afternoon. As a side note, we'd like to offer ourselves up to an interview detailing the update and our future plans for the mod. We hope that the HL/HL2 community will be pleased and possibly amazed at just how much we have accomplished. We're also going to be holding a question and answer session Friday night at 9:00PM Est at channel #resistancemod on irc.gamesnet.net. Thank you and we appreciate your time and cooperation.

The Kharaa presence has been detected. Repeat: the Kharaa presence has been detected. Somewhere onboard the aliens have already begun to breed. We have just received notice that a Frontiersmen response craft will be docking in moments. They represent the height of small squad technology, and the peak of modern military training -- but even so, the outcome cannot be predicted. We expect the fighting to be intense, and the casualties high.

Luck and victory to us all.

Content Usage:

To install, run the ns_install_v20.exe executable. If you have a previous version of NS installed, the 2.0 installer will offer to make a backup copy for you. If you decline to backup your previous version, this installer will delete the previous NS version before installing NS 2.0. This is by design.

NS 2.0 requires Half-Life Retail 1.1.1.0, CounterStrike Retail 1.5, or Day of Defeat Retail 1.0.

NS 2.0 requires an OpenGL or DirectX-compliant video card, and does not support software rendering.

Suggested Minimum System Specs:
Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP.
350Mhz CPU (Pentium-equivalent)
16MB 3D video adapter
32MB RAM
200MB free hard drive space
28.8 modem

Any issues with this installer or the 2.0 client can be reported on the NS Forums here . Note that there is definitely a small patch coming in the very near future, if only to support VAC as previously planned.

They have also got a quote from Waldo aswell

I don't mean to misuse this word, but really quite soon. We're done with all the fixes/changes, and are down to just testing it right now. I can't really specify a fixed time, because you never know just what will come up when you plan software. We might find some bug or something that isn't right, and have to fix it. But let's hope not!
