DoDNetwork has got some pics of the Forest map for DoD 1.1 from Tim "Waldo" Holt.

The pics show new textures and quite alot of grass which should provide a nice amount of cover and some interesting game play

Half-Life.org have interviewed Neil Manke and Einar Saukas (makers of They Hunger) from Underworld: Bloodline

Dabaz: Approximately how long did you have to keep this project under wraps?
Neil Manke/Einar Saukas: We kept this project secret for the entire development cycle (a couple months), right up until the release day.
John Callaham at HomeLan Fed kept on our toes most of the time, asking for information on our secret project, which is the reason he scored the first interview with us right after the release (the squeaky wheel gets the grease).

To read more of this interview head on over to Half-Life.org

Here's some pics:

Planet Half-Life have had a chat with some of the people from Valve and its quite interesting it also strys twards the technical side of the source engine aswell

ColdW|SidewinderX: How will the weapon sysytem be set up regarding viewable models in1st and 3rd person view. Will the same mesh be used for both or will it use a system similar to HL1 with the _w _p system?
valve|gaben: Weapons have two models - the in-view model and the world model (seen in 3rd person).

This is a nice review of Natural Selection done by Europes very own boomtown.net
From Boomtown.net Article
Running down a high tech corridor with lights of strong contrast flashing by me. I can hear the sniffling sounds of the alien creatures gaining on me from behind. I take a quick left and find myself in a dead end. I turn around and brace myself for what is coming. My whole squad whipped out – ambushed by small four legged aliens sitting in the ceiling that made fast attacks, killing one of us at a time and then retreating to the shadows. Everybody is gone… but me. I check my ammo meter, making sure I’m locked and loaded. I look up and I see 1…2…3 alien creatures of varied sizes. They make a hissing sound as I squeeze the trigger to unload round after round in to the pack. They scatter; the smaller ones climb up the walls and try to get behind me while the big one goes for a frontal attack. I unload my whole mag’ into the one coming at my front but it just keeps coming. Switching to my alternative weapon, a fiercely fast Automag like pistol, I pull the trigger repeatedly. I shoot another 10 rounds in the beast before it falls down, dead.

Gamestar, a magazine printed in Germany, has reported that an ATI video card, the as-yet unreleased 9900 pro, will be bundled with Half-Life 2. If this is true, then it will most likely make for a game that you have to pay $450 for. They are also reporting that the gold date for HL2 is September 13th. Assuming that is correct, Valve has about 40 days to complete the game, if they want to release it on the 30th.
