So As Promised (Again), Your Eye Candy:

We didn't give you MI for Christmas 2004, we didn’t give you MI for Christmas 2005, we didn't even give you a teaser video for the new-year. We've been saying that MI will be released 'soon' for so long that you must think we're actually making Duke Nukem Forever.

It's been a long and bumpy road making this mod, and I would like to thank all the fans who have stuck by us and given their support. Without you guys constantly bugging us, MI might have never been finished. I think the best way to thank everyone who has been involved with this project is to announce that Move In! public beta v1.0 will be released late January 2006!!!

That’s right, you read correctly, the wait is almost over - MI is coming and it will rock your first person shooter world. So go get a clean change of pants and make sure you still have HL1 installed, as we will be releasing more media and info over the coming days.

Anyone who would like to help us out by hosting a server for or providing a mirror for the installer, please contact SwissError at swisserror@moveinmod.net or just drop by the forums.

Related: Off Limits
Here's a quick sneak peek at a couple of the maps that we're currently working on. These are work-in-progress shots, but we figured that we could share them anyway, just to give everyone a taste of what's going on within the vast Off Limits development complex.

The first one is a collaborative effort between myself and Simon. It's called ol_downfall, and occurs within a dense and vast cityscape. The next two shots are from ol_undersiege, a wide open desert/wasteland arena.

We can't wait to share more of these with you, and plan on having a beefier update in the coming weeks. As always, we're still looking for more mappers to add to our crew, so if you've got the chops, feel free to drop by our forum and say hello.

Nyarr! Hope ye scallywags all had a Happy New Year, and a Good Holiday Season.

Lots of progression on the mod lately, we have six new team members which are: Rejen (Voice Talent), Skjalg (Mapper), and Sinistar (Animator). From the former Mist mod team are: Tuxit (Coder), Kintar0 (Props), Nexus (Mapper). Give 'em a big hearty welcome.

The mod has really come together in the past few months, we have three completed Game modes now thanks to Akz our Lead Coder: Booty, Booty Tag, and Territory. First and Third Person Animations are just about finished for the Skirmisher and the Berserker. The Heavy Knight will be going ingame soon with his animations. We have alot of new maps coming along, some of which we show in this update. In the map Sailaway there are controllable ships with cannons, there are hardly any latency or jumping issues over the net with them.

Well 2005 has finally come to an end, and it has been a very eventuful year. We've progressed greatly as a mod, gained and lost team members, and improved all around as a team. We're very appreciative of all of our fans who followed us in 2005, and we hope you all keep spreading the word, and continue to follow us on into the new year. So on behalf of the MAG team, I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year(Even if it is a bit late haha).

So, now on to the part everyone really wants, the Update!

First up we have our new Blitz model, created by El P.I.G. This model is great and a very accurate recreation of the Blitz Gundam. We are very glad to have El as a part of our team, and I'm sure all of you are aswell. So here it is, the Blitz Gundam (This model is not textured, and the render quality may be sort of low, due to the quick preparation of it)

Next, we have our finished Strike Gundam. This model was created by Darkside, with some parts by El P.I.G. It has now been completly textured, and looks great! Here it is, the completed Strike Gundam.

And there you have it everyone, our New Years update! We're moving along very fast now, so expect many more updates in the near future, but untill then stay active in the community, and help us spread the word about MAG! And if you havent already, please take the time to vote for us, for ModDB's Mod of the Year awards, which can be done by clicking on the link on the right side of the page. Also remember to vote for us on the ModDB top 100 and the Frag4Fun topsites every day, by clicking on their links aswell! Thanks to all our fans who have done this, and continue to do so! We greatly appreciate you all.

Our first update in the new 2006 year! We've extended and updated the about section. Also we've got some new media to show. Here's a new Hedgehog vehicle concept provided by Qma:

You can read new, more detailed vehicle descriptions in the updated about section.

Recently we've had a lot of progress which is not visible on the website. We managed to solve some networking problems and our net graph is getting smaller all the time. Also there has been work going on with our Chaos 126p model and it should appear soon. We've been interviewed by the Polish site Source.Mapping.pl. You can check out the interview (in Polish) here.

new Half Life 2 machinima film is underway, it's called The Last (www.hl2film.com) and its an action/comedy set in the near future that falls somewhere between Ghostbusters and Aliens in terms of style. It's headed up by one Simon Williams, that's me, the guy writing this; I'm a University student working on creating this film for my final year project. I've got a background in creating small, live action short films ( www.8bucksproductions.com) and have a prior machinima trilogy under my belt (www.teamcorellia.com), and I also have a background in creating single player content for some older titles. As this is being made as an essential part of my attempts to get a degree, it really is going to get finished before the Summer of 2006 no matter what, I can guarantee...

With the script now finished and some pilot work done (this is available for download from the website) I have part of the voice cast assembled with people who have worked with me on previous machinima and SP levels, but there are still several roles that need to be filled, including that of the lead character Roy Durand. I'm looking for some talented voice actors to bring the uncast characters to life, and its a totally open policy; Prior experience is a plus, but not a necessity. My primary concerns will be the acting skills on the voice work, how well a voice might fit a character and the sound quality of the recordings. Other factors like reliability and the speed of work are important, and so the sooner I hear from people, the better a chance they have.

If anyone is interested, they should check the website for details on the characters and then shoot me an email with some examples of their voice work (there are some sample lines for various characters on the website). Versatility is great, but the main factors in the casting process will be those mentioned above.

One other person that I need to find is a skilled skin artist to create faces for the eight main characters as well as one uniform for the lot of them. This artist would get a lot of freedom with what these skins look like and hopefully some good exposure for their work. Anyone interested in this should email me with examples of their previous work.
