American Cannon teaser and the finished (un-skinned) Sten for the British.

Here is the finished Sten weapon (still un-skinned) for the British and a nice teaser picture of the American Cannon.

The cannon must be "Deployed" to shoot and requires a single player to fire.

Team Dystopia are proud to announce that they are working on a Half Life 2 modification entitled; Dystopia. With a primary focus on balanced competitive gameplay and an arsenal of advanced weaponry, we invite gamers to jack in and kick arse.

Taking the vivid imagery of the cyberpunk genre, with obvious influences from such classics as Snowcrash, Neuromancer and Shadowrun, and melding the gritty future themes with fast and furious team based, objective style game play.

Dystopia will place players into a world of two sides; the punks and the corporate mercenaries. The punks are street samurai and slum dwellers who are waging a guerilla war against the faceless multinational corporations which have risen to over throw the corrupt governments we currently know.

Players select one of three cybernetic upgrade classes, choose implants to give them the skills and abilities required by their chosen role and to suit their desired play style. Such abilities include; scouting, sniping, heavy weapons combat, hacking and medical support.

Team Dystopia are a collection of avid gamers and dedicated artists who are looking to create a fresh and unique game play experience. Please have a look around our web site: www.dystopia-mod.com and join us on our forums.

Dystopia.
Jack In, Kick Arse.

I have written a rather long Letter to the Half-Life Community so please have a look :).
Dear Half-Life Community,
With the introduction of new websites to the Half-Life Gaming.com hosting, we enter a new era in hosting. Half-Life Gaming, hosted by the edgenetwork, has grown tremendously in the past year. With the start of new, more personalized service more and more modifications are staying with the hosting because of the service and the quality of the servers that they are hosted on. Given that we have had our share of problems in the past, we are still kicking and new measures are in effect to prevent this from ever happening again.

Some good news and bad news today! Firstly we'll be making some massive organisational changes to help drive forward our progress - I'm sad to announce that we'll be closing our development doors to the community as the approach is unfortunately proving to loose and unfocused as many suspected it would. However we will be making an extra effort to keep the project open and viewable for everyone to see progress and discuss / challenge design ideas as before. Yes this means we'll be taking on only the truly dedicated members of the team, putting up a team page (those that have helped will of course be given full kudos). After this, anyone wishing to join a department will have to apply by email and will be put through the usual trials like any every other mod does.

I’m disappointed to announce PCZone Magazine have let us down, they did not post the news on Hull-Breach as Paul Presley (online editor) said he would, which has only made me more determined than ever to show the world that this mod will be a game to be reckoned with.

We're looking for a roving reporter in the Seattle area to attend Valve's up and coming Mod makers weekend for Halflife 2. If you think you can make this then let me know, it's 'planned' (we can only hope) for sometime in June. We need someone that has some basic programming, mapping and modelling experience. If needs be we will try and raise funds to cover travel and hotel expenses.

The next two weeks will focus on...
Updating the Design Doc and making it public
Preparing for the recruitment drive in next Media Release.
Hiring a flash animator
Increasing drive towards readying key models.
Streamlining the teams

Also hats off to Tin for being our longest standing member of the team :)

To keep on releasing new missions we are looking for mappers who are interested in building single player maps for ops1942 -> alex@no1studios.com
Good team support will be guaranteed!

Two month after our first release we are proud to present version 2.0.
It includes two new missions with a new type of gameplay for ops1942. After the first release included two steath missions, we now put some action into the mod!
We also added a sniper rifle and the bazooka to create more interesting and new situations during the missions. Further it isn't possible anymore to start missions via the old opsloader.exe. Like in version 1.2 we are again using the "mission selection room" to start the missions an eays way - so no more problems with steam =)
You also can expect more missions in the next month! So go, get it!.
