Source: Black Dragon
Another week has passed for the Black Dragon development team and it really seems like we are starting to take some serious strides forward.

The list of features is in the process of getting ironed out. There are still a number of different ideas that have to be worked out but the team is finally getting on the same page. With that, I would like to describe one of the mod features for you.

As I pointed out in the initial description, there are plans to include resource management into the mod. The trick here is to do it in a way that does not take the player away from the action. It is supposed to be a very important part of the game but should not feel like a burden. As a result, the role of resource manager for the Unity forces will be a choice. If the player does choose to take care of resources, he will be given many different responsibilities. Each battle in Black Dragon will cost a number of resources, either as fuel or in lost vehicles. In order to have running vehicles for every battle, resources will have to be collected. Resource collection will be done through optional missions. As the game progresses, new areas will be presented and scanned. Some of these areas may show sign of useful resources. The player will be given the ability to set up a mine/pump or leave the area as is. As well, he may be asked to defend certain sites during the course of the game. If the resource is getting depleted in that area, it may be best to just retreat, not defend, and not risk losing vehicles and lives for no good reason. Running out of certain resources may mean that you will have less support to work with in the following missions. As you can see, this can become a very serious issue.

Any feedback we can get on this idea would be great. Please, join our forums and tell us what you think. Additionally, we have attached a render of Gaia IV, as well as a map of the planet, to this post. These are both works in progress but it can give you a general idea of what the planet will look like. For those with sharp eyes, yes, those are moons orbiting the planet. More on that next week.

Greetings from Project Hull Breach,
Although we don't submit news to you guys half as much as we should it certainly doesn't mean we aren't busy! Project Hull-Breach has changed direction quite a bit, closing our doors in the development front but keeping them open to the community in so far as design in concerned. A lot of the concept art has been finalised! The design document will be made public in the coming week! Enjoy.

Hello again everyone,

To start today off, I'd like to let you all know a new website has opened. The Hostile Report has reopened. I'd like to thank swatman for bringing some new life back into the old THR. He's still looking for some staff members so anyone interested contact him.
Yesterday for the site's opening, Squad passed along some new images of the update to his map hi_croatia. These are exclusive shots and you can only find them here.

Now here's some goodies for everyone here.
Last update I mentioned Back-Slash redid a couple of animations for us. This contributing animator stopped by to lend a hand from the UT2004 mod Red Orchestra.
Take a look at the new weapon animations here:
MP5 Reloading
Mac-11 Reloading

Still to come...

Cillham has been working on some updates to hi_hotel and hi_twilight. I can't wait to see those images.
MasterMind has been working hard on quite a bit, including an update to night vision and I'm hoping to get some images of that sometime very soon, maybe even a movie clip.
Plus an announcement which will bring some changes to the Hostile Intent Community.

World Wide Gaming ( http://www.WWGaming.com ) got an opportunity to interview Timmay from the Jedi: Timeline mod team. Topics covered in the interview range from issues facing the HL2/FarCry modding community to their plans for the future. WWG welcomes you to take an in-depth look into the Jedi: Timeline mod.

WWG - Do you guys plan on concentrating more on singleplayer or multiplayer or plan on working equally on both?

Timmay - I have to say we will be working on it with equal amount of force (no pun intended). The singleplayer is fully from our own design, its going to be a brand new world. It will be something that the whole team is going to be very proud of. But then you have the multiplayer. Tell me have you ever read such a good book you can see it in your head, well that is what the multiplayer is going to be like. We are taking the books and making them playable. This is a true labor of love for all of us, and I don’t think we can give one side of development less focus then the other.

You can catch the whole interview here ( http://forums.wwgaming.com/index.php?showtopic=1091 ).

Well its that time again... no not time to get drunk and push some guys car into a lake. We did that already, its time to move on. I SAID MOVE ON! Actually its time to choose the next song. This time around I'm taking a new approach. Here are the options:

SexyCarri: She's gonna hate me for this, I can see it now. However I thought it might be fun to write a song about my girlfriend who frequents these here forums. Vote now because I'm sure by the time she catches wind of this I'll have to take it down.

Command & Conquer: Me and a few of the guys from Team Sexy have been on this C&C kick lately. Spending hours playing the wonderful amount of games that Westwood gave us. I think that if anything, we all agreed that Westwood should come back and just make movies, because the cinematics are excellent. And Kane is one evil Mofo.

Things That Piss Me Off: Not a video game, it would be a rant song about things that piss me off.... pretty much self-explanatory.

PC Gamer: The wonderful magazine that I grew up reading turned 10 this past month. I was thinking maybe I should celebrate its gaming goodness by writing them a song and then sending it to them. Regardless of whether this wins or not, I'll probably write it anyways.

And that's the poll. Halo Noobs is up and in circulation for you all to download, if you haven't done so already. In the mean time, go fish that guys car out of the water.
