Source: United Admins
The HLGuard team have released a new version of their server side anti-cheat tool. 1.60 BETA brings a big change: the UABL, or UnitedAdmins BlackList. With this turned on, admins can have cheaters that are banned in 1 server banned on all servers. Security features have been put in place with much agonising over black listable bans to make sure no false black lists are made.

There are many other changes and additions that have been made, please see the HLGuard download page for a full changelog.

The docs page has also finally been updated, check it out for a full description of how to use the new features and configs.

  • [NEW] Implemented blacklist system (HLGuard mode 6).

  • [NEW] Loads of new alias detections.

  • [NEW] Added server command hlg_listexec to show which files HLGuard has executed.

  • [NEW] Added hlg_mode CVAR for remote filtering out servers with unwanted HLGuard mode (internet/lan/league).

  • [NEW] Added more features to hlg_menu including "Restore Default Configuration".

  • [NEW] Added Alias Detection Lists for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero.

  • [CHANGED] Redone the configs entirely for easier configuration.

  • [CHANGED] Changed "authentication messages" feature to be either repeated or one-time only.

  • [CHANGED] Alias Detections now log/displays a code instead of the alias name.

  • [CHANGED] Namebaning now logs to a seperate file.

  • [CHANGED] Renamed all hlguard_* cvars to hlg_*

  • [FIXED] Fixed agreement disabling alias scanning.

  • [FIXED] Fixed bad data in status part of hlg_menu.

  • [FIXED] Fixed a bug with namebaning not kicking.

  • [FIXED] Fixed filelist and files being loaded if "Filecheck" is off.

Hello, An update is mandatory since the last update was early Jan. Our new site has slowed down in production and awaiting new graphics. Hoppie has turned out the M60, The MH-60, and is putting the finishing touches on the HMMWV. We acquired a new player modeler. Welcome Satan, he has experience with 3ds max and has showed us some of his previous work, which has met the standards of HL2. More news on the new site asap.

We got tons of updates and some important news. But first, to what you guys always come here for... Kick Ass Robots!!!!!

This baby is called the Buffer Gun. Its for the robots side. What they do, is they put their arms through it and hold it on their chests and fire like crazy.
Humans can pick it up, but the recoil is so fierce it takes a little health away every time you fire a shot.

This is the Gatling Hand Gun. Another weapon that’s made by the robots.
It connects to a backpack that is held by the robots and can hold about 2000 bullets. If a Human kills a robot and takes the Gatling Hand Gun, he has to stay in the same place or else he can only take 200 bullets, because that weight it is too much for any human to hold.

This is a model of the Spaz, it was modeled by, of course, Magnetmannen, but it was skinned by Tha Slaya, its still in the major WIP stages.

This little bugger is called The Juggernaut a.k.a. the Guardbot. The Juggernaut is a autonomous guardbot that spins around with clubs and such to break your legs. It is something you can build at at nanogenerators, but only if you have the money.

The Admin over at hl2c told us that we need to add annoying banners at the top of each page, because, well that’s the rules. So sorry if you see banners, but it’s really nothing, considering the generosity the people over at HL2C give us.

Colossus is looking for skilled people over the age of 18, that want to see a good old scool sci-fi mod come to life, humans fighting robots, in the ultimate battle for the leadership of the world.

"Captain, do we have any bombers nearby I can jump on?"
"That would be a negative corporal. Jump on the transport that is leaving in 2 minutes, so hurry your batoot up soldier!"
"Affirmative sir!"

Well the E3 awe has finally started to die down sort of... I mean E3 is like THE best thing in video gaming around really (well until ES2 gets released that is ) so we _had_ to keep our eyes peeled on every little thing, and watch every little movie. We are back on track working on ES2 full steam ahead again!

I'll start off with our banner competition. The contest ENDS the 25th, which is 2 days! So keep those photoshop's running at full speed. The winner will be announced in next week's update (just to keep you guessin'). We will give that user access to the Beta Tester Forum and will officially be a beta tester for ES2. They will have the first look at ES2 so I know you all want that, so make sure you turn in more banners!

Now we have the fun, visual part! RENDERS! Today I am very pleased to bring you a skinned GM Hackingbox by enzodiac and the UTF Airforce logo by GatoMalo.

GM Hackingbox - 1
GM Hackingbox - 2
GM Hackingbox - 3
UTF Airforce Logo

"Captain, this is Bomber Alpha looking for targets in sector Zula. We have located the enemy Capital Ship, permission to bomb, sir?"
"Affirmate Bomber Alpha, bomb at will! May God have mercy on their souls...."

Yes that is just an image I thought would just look cool with the mini-story today No real relation to ES2 except that stuff is getting blown up. Kudos to all who know the movie.

Remember to keep working on those banners everyone!

The Client files will be up shortly.

It took us much longer than we'd hoped, as usual, but it's finally time to get this release out the door. We've got the usual bug fixes, all sorts of updated content, effects, and optimisations, as well as three new maps and two new weapons. Hopefully you'll enjoy playing this release as much as we've enjoyed working on it. This version should run on both Steam and non-Steam versions of Half-Life with no additional files, but since it has only been extensively tested on Steam we will not be offering support for people running it with the old versions of Half-life.

If any of you Linux server administrators were having trouble running yesterdays release due to missing libraries, try replacing the fa_i386.so in your \\firearms\\dlls\\ folder with the one from this archive.

If you run metamod on your Windows server, you'll want to grab this updated .dll that incorporates the new entities added to Firearms 2.9. We don't have a Linux version ready yet, but as soon as we do I'll post it here.

Trystan has been kind enough to set up a couple of torrents to help ease the load on the mirrors. For those of you who don't know, BitTorrent is a great little peer to peer application. The more people who download via the torrents, the faster the downloads will become.
