Source: CS NationRelated: Team 3D
Torbull tells me that Team 3D will be featured in an ESPN SportCenter e-Sports special. Footage of the team in matches as well as one on one interviews has been collected by the ESPN spies, and should be included in the five part series that started Sunday. Eep, that's yesterday so we're already too late! Fire up the ESPN SportsCenter tonight at 6:00 PM so you can watch part 2 of 5 and keep watching everyday until Thursdays so you can see up to part 5 of 5. Or you could always go John Titor and get a time machine......more information is available at the Team 3D site.

Born of War, a WW2 multiplayer total conversion for Unreal Tournament 2004 has decided to move their development over to Valve's upcoming Half-Life 2 platform. Born of War hopes to take the best aspects of competitive gaming, realisim, and the "fun factor" of gaming and put them into a playable product that everyone can enjoy. With that said, the Born of War team (Flipside Software) is calling upon the gaming communities to give suggestions into what they'd like to see in the "perfect game." Flipside is here to create a game that everyone can love. You can sound off your ideas on Flipside's forums. So get on there and get your ideas boiling! The team is also looking for talented individuals to help start the process of development, with the a limit on what can be done right now (without the Half-Life 2 released of course) Flipside is looking to get a lot of the modeling, artwork, and animations done. Animators, texture artists and skinners, and modelers can apply to join! All of which require some form or previous work to be reviewed. Please, only serious invidivualds need to apply.

support for lerk, fade, onos, support for half the combat maps (rebirth, daimos, faceoff, pulse) bots evolve Redemption. Cool new welcome message (appears in middle of screen) Every test game played vs. Hivemind 3.1:Combat has resulted in a win for the bots changed all bot names to [hivemind]Skill (so no patching f** heads change names and claim as their own and shows skill) *Skill is how good the aiming is on bots.

Source: The SnarkPitThe News might be a bit old, but I thought it's worth mentioning anyway.
We've been discussing this in the forums, and a lot of people seemed to want a 'themed' contest, and a lot seemed to want 'flat-shaded' maps. Some peons even wanted texture limitation, and I personally wanted to have 'incorrect dimensions'. So, seeing as we're a democracy ruled by a dictator, we're going to have a themed competition, but what the theme is is up to you. Flat shaded, texture limitation, concept art again, too big/too small, whatever- make a map with some kind of twist to it. It's the last HL competition we're ever going to have, so go for it and make your last ever HL map! The only limitation is it should be a playable Half-Life Deathmatch map (i.e. have weapons and player starts, and not have stupidly high r_speeds). You can "retheme" existing, released maps if you want, but we will be biased against them unless there's a fairly radical change (this rule doesn't apply to existing but unreleased maps). Bearing in mind it is the summer and a lot of people will be having exams, the deadline will be set for Sunday 1st August. Of course, should HL2 come out before that (you never know..!) the date will be changed. We'll also see about prizes and getting the entries properly judged this time! And seeing as it's quite a long time, we'll let you submit up to two maps.Official Forum Thread
