Looking for a BYOC spot for this summer's Cyberathlete Extreme World Championships event?
Unfortunately, the BYOC area has been oversold for weeks and CPL is not offering any additional spots, but the CPL is allowing limited trading at the forums. With some spots going for as low as $50 or even less, this is a great opportunity to purchase a BYOC spot at a possible discount from retail prices.

Go to this FORUM and place your bid. Trading period ends Monday, June 14, 2004.

We added the Termites Models and Termites Classes section also we made some little change onto the Ants Structures.
We take some idea from the forum to finish the Termites Classes. Well the classes can change over time but right now we think we got something to start with.

This update is for Cillham from the Team and myself, Charles.
Everyone in the community ought to know Cillham. He has been with the team through thick and thin and has been a part of our group for a very long time.
Cillham took some time off a little while ago because we all know real life gets busy at times. But he has come back full force for Version 1.3.
While Cill still has real life obligations like we all do, he made the time to update all of his maps as well as HI Hotel.
He always works. He always makes time for HI and he never complains.
To our friend from the outback the Hostile Intent team says thanks for your dedication mate! It?s very much appreciated.

On this day in 1944, Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower gives the go-ahead for largest amphibious military operation in history: Operation Overlord, code named D-Day, the Allied invasion of northern France.

By daybreak, 18,000 British and American parachutists were already on the ground. At 6:30 a.m., American troops came ashore at Utah and Omaha beaches. At Omaha, the U.S. First Division battled high seas, mist, mines, burning vehicles-and German coastal batteries, including an elite infantry division, which spewed heavy fire. Many wounded Americans ultimately drowned in the high tide. British divisions, which landed at Gold, Juno, and Sword beaches, and Canadian troops also met with heavy German fire, but by the end of the day they were able to push inland.

Despite the German resistance, Allied casualties overall were relatively light. The United States and Britain each lost about 1,000 men, and Canada 355. Before the day was over, 155,000 Allied troops would be in Normandy. However, the United States managed to get only half of the 14,000 vehicles and a quarter of the 14,500 tons of supplies they intended on shore.

Three factors were decisive in the success of the Allied invasion. First, German counterattacks were firm but sparse, enabling the Allies to create a broad bridgehead, or advanced position, from which they were able to build up enormous troop strength. Second, Allied air cover, which destroyed bridges over the Seine, forced the Germans to suffer long detours, and naval gunfire proved decisive in protecting the invasion troops. And third, division and confusion within the German ranks as to where the invasion would start and how best to defend their position helped the Allies. (Hitler, convinced another invasion was coming the next day east of the Seine River, refused to allow reserves to be pulled from that area.)

Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, commander of Britain's Twenty-first Army Group (but under the overall command of General Eisenhower, for whom Montgomery, and his ego, proved a perennial thorn in the side), often claimed later that the invasion had come off exactly as planned. That was a boast, as evidenced by the failure to take Caen on the first day, as scheduled. While the operation was a decided success, considering the number of troops put ashore and light casualties, improvisation by courageous and quick-witted commanders also played an enormous role.

I hope you all had a great week. The bad news is exams and essays are coming, the good news is school is almost over. The Eternal Silence Team is still out there making great content, but we are also streamlining the gameplay and getting ready for HL2 to be released (if it gets delayed again, we might as well liscence the Unreal 3 engine). So this week, I bring you more of Dete's great work. He managed to squeeze this into his busy schedule between essays and final exams. I present to you the UTF Railgun Skin:
UTF Railgun Skin 1

UTF Railgun Skin 2

UTF Railgun Skin 3

That is all for this week. We might be doing these updates every 2 weeks from now on, depending on how much content we produce. We will let you know when this happens, until then, have a great week.

Steering away from World War I, and progress on the mod, I would just like to remind everybody of what today is. Sixty years ago this day, was the largest amphibious and airborne assault in history, better known as D-Day.

American, British, Canadian and Australian forces landed on the beaches, and parachuted behind enemy lines, in order to liberate France, and defeat Nazism in Europe. So let us remember those brave men today, both living and dead. Their bravery and sacrifice should never be forgotten.
