If you are a fan of heavy, extreme and technical music then you have probably heard of Fear Factory. The latest Fear Factory song is climbing the charts! Fear Factory is one of the most original, heaviest and influential bands of the last 10 years, if not of all time. One of our staff members, Louis Cyphier, had a chance to share a stage with them twice! In addition to rock stars, the band members have a major involvement in the game industry. Check out their sites: FearFactory.com (their main site), Fear Factory's Fiber Frag (their game site), Herrera Productions Inc..

I think the proper thing to do first off is to notify the community that we will be delaying the launch of 1.3 to a tentative release date of July 9th. Our set release date for 1.3 was due the 25th of this month, yet we added a few new team members to the Hostile Intent staff that have been contributing so much in such little time, that we want to make sure that their work gets noticed in Hostile Intent 1.3. I'd like to welcome Rifter to the Hostile Intent team, who will be working on our player animations. Expect to see a few changes in 1.3 because of him; and I would like to welcome long time HI beta tester and community member Bic-B@ll, who will be giving us a helping hand in the mapping department

With that out of the way, yes, it?s been awhile since we last gave you guys an update on the status of 1.3, but that doesn?t mean we haven?t been busy like always. Today I?d like to highlight some work I?ve been doing for Aurora v1.3. Last month I was able to go on leave and visit my parents house (the real hi_aurora) and do some texture work on that trip. I?ve redone almost every texture in the map using digital camera images I took from my parent?s house and imported them for use in Hostile Intent. So the walls you are looking at, the carpet, the tiles and so forth is 100% photo-realistic textures from the maps real life location. I'm planning on taking the trip again next week from Colorado to Washington to finish up some textures that I missed. Who says Hostile Intent isn't dedicated to its work?

Also the mapping department has been extremely busy lately which is largely responsible for the delay of 1.3; yet however expect to see new versions of hi_jungle, hi_russia, hi_majesty, hi_alandalus, hi_twilight, hi_hotel, hi_offshore, and hi_basque?

Half-Life Gaming just had the opportunity to interview Illogic from Ghost Ops. You can view the interview here
Half-Life Gaming: Sum up the story line of your mod in about 2 paragraphs.
IllOgic: Basically, its big business versus the government. The government gets themselves in financial trouble; they turn to the private sector, being huge companies like Microsoft etc, to fund weapons research etc, because of the ongoing world problems. After a while, through corruption, and payoffs, the corporations come together, and form an alliance, then challenge the government’s power. This causes a civil war of sorts.

Half-Life Gaming: What kind of Melee attacks will there be implemented into the mod?
IllOgic: Our melee attacks are similar to halos. every weapon in the ghost arsenal you can hit someone over the head with, like in halo. This will cause the player to reel, and controls to be backwards, etc.

We have been busy for last month - we are bringing you three new artworks and two final renders. HealthBot (first concept) is small robot, which you will use for healing and recharging. Helluva Carrier is a large dropship used for transportation of the police forces (third concept). And the flitter, displayed in the first render, is a car-like hovercraft - several types of this vehicle will fly over your head...
