Just a bit of an update. Oelund is working on some sweet new animations for the grenadier's melee trench club, to give it a more authentic striking appearance (one handed). This was after careful observation of media portraying the first and second World Wars.

I know you've all seen the Mills Bomb that was posted awhile ago, but it was posted against a blue background...not very ambience-friendly. Oelund just made this great new render of the Mills Bomb, something Germans don't want to see coming toward their trenches! Geht ein deckung!

The CPL announces that it will allow an additional ten days for BYOC transfers, starting today, June 29, and ending Thursday, July 8, 2004.
This announcement comes in response to the many requests made from gamers still wishing to sell/transfer and purchase BYOC spots.

An official BYOC trading thread has been initiated in the CPL BYOC Forums. Information on how to process a BYOC transfer can be found both on this thread and in Section 7 of the CPL FAQ Page.

As im sure you've already noticed, things look a bit different around here. I decided that it was time to completely rewrite the site and give it a more up to date look. If you find any problems with this new layout, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail stating the problem.

P.S The server has been empty lately, lets get it filled up.

I just bought a ATI 9800SE 256bit edition, and I was looking on the internet on how to unlock the 8 pipes instead of 4- which will put this card on par with the 9800Pro. Finally, after hours of research, I have found the proper information that puts all questions to rest.

I have been looking for some help for a long time to start my Half-Life 2 mod. I know it will be awhile before I get a full team but I was wondering if anyone was intested in becoming part of the team. If you are a concept artist or know how to model then send me an e-mail. I am looking for other positions so e-mail me if you think you can help in other ways.

The mod is Borg Wars. Don't let the name fool you though. It is not entirely about the Borg. The main plot is that Species 8472 is still mad at the Borg for invading their fluidic space. Species 8472 sets out once again to combat the Borg. This is the Federations greatest chance to strike a giant blow to the collective. Not everything turns out the way you would expect though. Species 8472 starts to hate the rest of the galaxy once again. So now you are fighting on two fronts.

If you have any interest please contact me and check out the website at http://borgwars.hlgaming.com. The site is going to have a face lift in a few weeks. I look forward to hearing back from anyone.

After an extended quiet period, Half-Life: Nightwatch has released a massive media update which includes a wide variety of new and updated content. Updated renders have been posted for several NPCs and weapons, as well as entirely new renders for the M249 light machine gun and fire axe. Several new level screenshots have also been made available for fans of the mod, including some showing off some of the beautiful effects possible with the Nightwatch particle system. Also available is the official Nightwatch Steam background by Cory Strader, which can be downloaded as a desktop wallpaper.

At the moment, Nightwatch is currently interested in finding additional staff members to help out with character skinning and animation, as well as talented sound engineers and voice actors. Anyone interested in joining the team might want to view the Nightwatch jobs page for more information.

And now we see the end of WON. "WON authentication servers will be phased out by the end of summer."

For those who have not tried steam yet you better start. Yes steam has some problems but very few and can be easily fixed. If you really hate Steam that much then stop playing now because in a few months you will not be able to play online anymore. So hold back your pride and do what you need to. Download steam cry a river and GET THE HELL OVER IT.
An update for CS:CZ and Counter-Strike has just been released. This release features three previously unreleased bonus missions for Condition Zero Deleted Scenes. Steam will update itself automatically when you restart. Here is a list of the additions:

COUNTER-STRIKE: CONDITION ZERO DELETED SCENES:
  • Added previously unreleased missions Miami Heat, Truth in Chaos, and Run

COUNTER-STRIKE:
  • Improved behavior of team_say

  • Server prints team and player info in the console for chat messages

  • Improved memory efficiency of hitbox animations to address intermittent server lag

Additionally, work is under way to transition players from WON to Steam. WON authentication servers will be phased out by the end of summer. If you have not already done so, you can download Steam here.

Yes thats right you guessed it. More models from the Crisis 51 Team, Wolvy_UK in particular.

This is the BMP3. Nearly all the vehicles are done for the "Opening Sequence" of which none of you know about. But it will be a grand opening piece and will be released as a demo as soon as possible. Next up we should see some characters emerging. So watch this space and keep the forums alive!

Also with summer coming up, and presumably Half Life 2 coming out, well so they say but you can't believe it all can you. We have team members finishing college and so forth and some free time has jumped out on them. So expect Snaps to be giving a website revamp, and probably alot of fine tuning and putting things together for the launch of HL2, with shortly after a demo of Crisis 51. Thats if we get what we need done, and get some skinners onto these models soon.
