Source: Paroxysm
Fresh from the developer's forum, LagRange, our new coder has just told us the following information:

"Things I got fixed:
- handgun doing damage
- explosions doing damage to the player (shall they?)
- equipment costs

Important things standing out:
- reported crashes on mapchange. I suspect this happens because of the particle system not being reset when the map changes. I still have no good solution for this (*headaache*)
- reputation dependent money (required for new equipment prizes)

Less important things:
- weapon animations
- explosion graphics (they are far smaller than the damage radius)"

he says he'll try and get all these out and build a stable patch by the 17th, so cross your fingers and hope, but remember, Paroxysm isn't known for having its release dates set in stone.

Well its been some time since our last update, so I wanna let everyone know what is going on. The mod team is working very hard and we are accomplishing a lot. The 3D department has been working in full force. We almost have a finished player model (we are using 6 different ones, 1 for each class.) You can see that in the forums under modeling and skinning. The ANGEL system is programmed and works (haven’t tested it with the game because we have no SDK!) but with Mazors coding ability I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The sound department has just put its gears into motion, if you know Vinny (Vunsunta or Fat Italian) then you know our sounds are going to kick ass :P. The final game design is 80% complete we are still working on a few things, I hope within a month we will release our JMpubDoc V 0.2. If you are new to Jungle Mist or don’t know very much about it and you would like too I encourage you to join our forums and participate. People who are signed up on forums will get special mailings, and also the JM team constantly posts there with threads asking for feedback ect… So you get to have a little insider information. If you would like to talk to me personally and have some specific questions about the mod you can Email me at Ganj527@gmail.com or catch me on AIM Ganj527. Also we have Ventrilo and mIRC. The irc info is irc.gamesurge.net #junglemist . The ventrilo voice chat information is Hostname/ip junglemist.ventrilo.org and port # 3819 . Another way of asking questions is using the pinned thread in the main Jungle Mist forum called Jungle Mist Questions. Ask whatever your heart desires and 8/10 times you will get the answer your looking for. Well that is about all I need to post today, please expect more frequent posts as the summer continues. Also Happy 4th of July make it a safe 1.

Tune in to the Half-Life Radio Show on Thursday July 15th for the two-hour Fear Factory special and spend an evening with drummer Raymond Herrera. He will be coming to us live from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain where Fear Factory is finishing up the European leg of their world tour in support of their new album Archetype. Tell everyone you know, post it in every forum you frequent!

During a time in modern rock when sameness is celebrated over substance and innovation has been all but forgotten, LA’s heavy metal juggernaut, Fear Factory, remains a pioneering force in music. As one of the first bands in modern metal to mix hardcore with industrial beats and synthesizers, Fear Factory also experimented with full album remixes long before the practice came into vogue. Beyond that, vocalist, Burton C. Bell took inspiration from singers like Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Andrew Eldridge from Sisters of Mercy and The Mission UK’s Wayne Hussey to forge a distinctive vocal style blending melodic lyrical delivery with aggressive vocals. That’s right; Fear Factory did it first.
Quote:

"From the very beginning, the essence of Fear Factory was always Raymond’s drumming. We know that if you just follow Raymond, that’s a Fear Factory riff."
- Burton C. Bell
Check out all of Fear Factory's websites for an in depth look into the bands music and there passion for gaming.

The Gaming Element has interviewed ProfessionalVictim from HL-Nightwatch. The interview is available here: http://www.thegamingelement.com/articles.php?articleid=4

Here is a quote for you:
TGE: Now we know Nightwatch will be re-entering the Half-Life world at the same time Gordon and Barney and all that lot are still in the Black Mesa complex. Is there any possibility that we would have say an encounter with one of the original characters from Half-Life?

ProfessionalVictim: As currently planned, there won't be any direct interaction with the player characters from the original Half-Life or its expansions. One of our goals is to produce an entirely new adventure for the player instead of simply building on top of the existing ones and borrowing content from them. It would also require the reproduction of several level areas at a much higher detail level without access to any of the original map. The player will, however, be aware of the actions of the other player characters throughout the episode, and these actions do affect the events in Nightwatch. Some elements in Nightwatch will also tie in more directly with elements from the previous stories.

In essence, this past week would have best been described as a week of organization. Essentially, everyone was trying to get on the same page. In order to do this, an official "To Do" list was introduced. It is quite a lengthy list that grows daily. We have tons of work ahead of us.

Another interesting thing I should point out is that we have another coder. It turns out that SpaceAce is also proficient in C++. And they say coders are hard to find.

Lastly, we have a new piece of media for all of you. This is a wallpaper created by Dead Head (should work on most resolutions). The render used was created by Anarchy. This wallpaper is the first in a series.

Thanks for your time and see you next week.

OK this is sick and funny. If you remember a few days back on Half-Life Radio, Andy Hodges pants were used in a practical joke. Those are now on e-bay ready for auction. Check it out at Andy Hodges Underwear!!

BTW you get a cd of SexyJosh's unrealeased media.
