Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have some more interview lined up for the rest of the summer so stay tuned for more of those. As for me not posting all that much news a few days ago, this was because of my real job. Things have been crazy and I did not have time to update the site. I am now working on getting a TFC server for Half-Life Gaming. I should have more info on this later. Untill the next update. Stay safe.

I was not going to release this untill later today but word was let out that it was here so i might as well release it. I just had the chance to interview Chris Harris from Hostile Intent. Here is a little bit:
Half-Life Gaming: What is the hardest thing about creating a modification like this?
Christopher Harris: I think the major thing is the international team and managing them. We have people involved from both coasts of the USA and Canada all the way around the world to Spain, Germany, Denmark, and even Australia. It's definitely not your standard office work. We use a few ways to communicate but IRC is a kind of a safe haven for us.

Half-Life Gaming: What is your most unforgettable moment about Hostile Intent?
Christopher Harris: I think there are 2 moments... the first being our initial release of the mod back in January. The second is just from 1.3 itself. My Admin Assistant (AA) was collecting the files for the 1.3 installer. His connection was in the toilet as he was trying to upload. Now our Programmer lives in the same city as our AA and they decided, after some thought, to do a secondary form of file transferring, manual. The AA was first going to hope on his bicycle but instead the programmer drove the 20 minutes to the AA's and they met for the first time. They swapped files and 1.3 was released.

stuffTeam (http://www.stuffteam.co.uk) are proud to announce the release of Sex Drugs & Beer-Can (SDBC) Beta v3.0

If you have played previous Betas forget it , Beta 3 is a total system revamp we have scrapped the sloggish SP mode in favor for a whole new cooperative based game

Beta 3 lets you pick your character from a team of 4 (Beer can, Killer Bean, Red or Ultra leek). You then must work co-operativly to slaughter all in sight before proceeding to the next map.
Your tools come in the form of around 10 weapons (inc . Banana launcher, fish bomb and killer rats) some specialist to certain characters.

New features in beta 3 range from the simple yet complicated wall-jump to the whole new bike system .. yes in beta 3 you get your OWN bike custom to you.

Beta 3's map system allows you to create your own monsters by allowing you to overwrite ones ingame , For example you may do a prehistoric map so want dinosaurs .. all you need to do is either create your own models including the basic ACT_ anims or use the sdk to model you monster around the biped given and use the current anims to create your own monster (more details of this and where to submit your maps at our forums)

Hello,
we've solved the problems with the boards, and the new ones await you all.
Sad to say you'll have to register again, because all old topics and the database have gone lost in the "old" boards. We might be able to restore some important threads once we'll gain access to the M.it hosted boards, but until then, the boards will be completely new.
On the good sides, i can say that the new forums will feature the latest vbulletin code and from now they'll always be updated regularly. So what are you waiting? Join The New Forums now!

We will restore the usual domain (http://forums.specialistsmod.net/index.php), in a couple of days, so that you'll be able to browse the forums at the usual address.

My thanks to those of you who took the time to let me know what you thought about Game Cam. Most of you think Game is pretty cool but, you want to record great movies without messing with the extras. Basically, you want fast, easy, and cool wrapped up in one small package. My answer to you is Game Cam Lite.

Game Cam Lite is a streamlined version of Game Cam designed for people who simply want to record in game movies with audio. Game Cam Lite records the same great movies as Game Cam, but has a basic feature set making it easier to use.

Effective Immediately, Mike "Prometheus" Valentine has joined us full time (or at least, that's what Im telling him he is). Prometheus comes to us from a long history of level design, including the now defunct Dark Truths mod.

He has extensive experience developing levels for the half life engine, and will be no less than a great asset to us. Welcome aboard!

Steven 'SEThorian' van de Graaf from Starlabs has also joined us as a part time designer. He is busy enough as it is with his own work, but his skills will nothing but help to us, if we want to push this thing through. Steven is a good friend of mine, but I will be bossy to him until he does what I say.

We have some massive projects in progress at this time. Hopefully, we will be able to get you some sneak peaks soon. Thanks everyone!

First off, we would like to welcome BloodyWolf to the beta testing roster. Secondly, I've been working on another map recently. It's name is Roshi-Island.
I've modified my older version quite a bit and this too will also be co-released for esf.
Here are some screenshots.

The road to success is not paved with gold my friends. Tough times are upon the Black Dragon team. This week saw the departure of our music composer. However, I am already in talks with a substitute, so things should look “OK” in the long run.

Additionally, I have been in constant communication with our web designer this week. I must say, his ideas are amazing. Personally, I cannot wait to see how they materialize. I know it will be something all of you will enjoy.

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that we are constantly looking for new members. With the recent departure of a few artists, we are in need of substitutes. Whether it be in 2D or 3D art, if you feel you can help, please let us know.

Thanks a lot and have a great weekend everyone.

So after weeks and weeks of silence, what have we been up to? Not much I'm afraid, the whole team is waiting for the release of Half-Life 2 to start work on the modification. Currently everyone is involved in other activities until such happens. But right now I'm not here to talk about that, no no. I'm here to tell everyone that we've finally, yes finally, released information on the gameplay of Born of War.

That's right, click up on the "gameplay" tab to find information about all three game modes we plan to ship the first public beta with. We'll have more information on the weapons, player roles (classes), and levels soon. Until then, keep praying that Half-Life 2 goes gold soon, we want to start!
