We can sometimes say that there are thousands of little programs that are here to help you, but the majority of them isn't that good. In the sea of little proggies as we call them, comes the tool from a bloke from Croatia, named Marach who has helped the community many times with his aplications. This aplications is designed mainly for clans who want to record their HLTV demos while playing a war. HLTV Tool is freeware program for accurately and easily recording HLTV demos. It is already used by thousands of users worldwide, especially clans to record their matches. This program can be very useful to you if you play any Half-Life mod (like CS, DoD, etc.) and need to record HLTV demos. Well known HLTV authority HLTV.org expressed interest in HLTV Tool and invited Marach to join them. Here is the feature list:

  • immediate and accurate recording controls

  • hotkeys for recording and stopping the demo

  • announce start and end of demo recording

  • announce number of spectators watching the match

  • auto-refresh HLTV option

  • ExtremGUI (TM)

  • Quick Links

  • automatic update notification

  • manual update check

  • easy resetting to defaults

  • feedback sounds

  • improved performance and functionality

The program can be downloaded here You should also check the CSConnecter which is designed for helping clans deal with their daily base obligations such as trainings, wars, and a lot of other things. Generally this aplications should help you not loosing your nerves when running a clan :).

The folks at the Gargaholics have just announced the start of a new comic:
We’ve been having this idea for a daily/weekly comic strip for ages, but it just didn’t work out because of the amount of work that had to be done, so we scrapped the plans.

Just a couple of days ago I found this website featuring Half life comics, called Half Park:
After a discussion on the forum about how to create such cool comics, I find myself trying something similar. A couple of hours later the results were pretty good if I may say so myself, specially when I had no idea at all how to even begin drawing those characters and backgrounds.

Now I’ve been working in Flash creating some bodies, heads, hair, mouths, backgrounds, etc. So I started thinking about having some kind of program that let’s people create there own comics very easy, using flash.

Now to get to the point:

We’re creating a Half Life based comic style south parkish strip program based on the Half Park comics from the Half Park site, in FLASH. We don’t have a name for this project yet since I only thought about this a few days ago (and it takes time to make up a good name). In this program, which will be a Flash MX 2004 source file (will be perhaps converted to older versions of flash), will give people the ability to create there very own comic strips just by copying the images from the flash source. Of course, you’ll need some Flash skills, but we’ll include a manual how to work with it.

To go into further details about this flash source, here’s a screen:

There will be two source (fla) files: The custom character creator and the custom background creator. Each file has it’s own scenes (categories in this case) and in each category there will be different layers. Like when having twenty hair styles, each with different standard colors and positions. A scene will be added called “hair types” and within the scene, each layer represent one hair style with different positions and angles. Good thing we’ll include a manual :)

We’re now looking for people who would like to draw some items of there own to be included in this flash project. We have some different kinds of eyes, hair, etc. But we need more! If your going to give it a try and have something you think we could use, submit them to:

submissions@friendlygarg.hlgaming.com

If you’re not sure about something, join our forums:

Check some of our work out that we made already:
- http://friendlygarg.hlgaming.com/clone/oh my.html

Oh, and if you happen to be good at php, we still need someone to create us a script so our team can upload images and stories themselves. If you have some free time, contact me:

Source: Remnant
That's right. Right now Remnant will remain a one man show. I see no point in hiring lots of people and having them idle around and do nothing. When I do start looking for help, I will firstly be looking at someone who can do concept art. If you are interested in the position and drawing for Remnant, please come back and check often. There will be news concerning the hiring of a concept artist very shortly.

The design document for Remnant will be uploaded very shortly. It is going through some final touches before it is released to the public. We would greatly appreciate it if you read through it and commented on it. Please head to the forums and post your thoughts there!

Please check back daily for updates. I will try to release news of progress on a daily basis if I can.

By coming to this website, you have taken the first step to gaming euphoria. You have helped start a revolution in MOD design and development. With your help and support, the bar for MODing will be raised. There will be new standards that all future MOD makers will have to live up to. What are these standards you say? Well I will tell you that they do include having the best models, animations, maps, ambient effects, and anything else that you can think of that your senses can perceive. But those are the least important parts. The most important part will be the gameplay...

MOD makers will have to strive to ensure that gamers are engrossed in their environment and interacting with it to accomplish their goals. Not only that but they must also ensure that players are interacting with other players to the fullest extent. All to often games and MODs suggest that the gameplay requires teamplay and player interaction, when in fact there is minimal contact with any other players.

Juice Box Software is trying its hardest to make sure that Remnant lives up to our own standards that we have set for ourselves. We also hope that other MOD makers will try to live up to our own standards for making MODs. Hopefully by living up to higher standards, peoples playing experiences will be more enjoyable. But we also want to make sure that we don't slack! If you think we can improve Juice Box Software or Remnant in any way let us know! Anything you say will be taken very seriously and reviewed. Please send any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, or props right here. We look forward from hearing from you.

This is really a neat tool if you want to creat a mission for CS: CZ.
I've developed a CS:CZ Mission Generator which some of you might find useful. The generator will automagically create VDF mission files based on your input. Remember each mission file must contain triplets of maps (3, 6, 9, 12, 15...). Once you have successfully generated enough maps, you will be given the option to finish the generation and download the VDF file as either Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert. These VDF files then must be placed in a directory like czero\\MissionPacks\\MyMission\\ with an Overview.vdf file (Overview.vdf generator coming soon).

The VDF file(s) you generate will only exist temporarily on our server - once the Bananas' notice the VDF file infiltration they will eradicate it within 12 hours.

If you notice bugs please report them to me on AIM: cluver49 or ICQ: 56053920. If you need to some help post a thread on the CS:CZ Forum!

Source: Reinstatement
At very chuffin’ last it’s a big ‘hey, hey!’ from all of us ‘ere at Reinstatement – the latest modification to commence development – powered by the almighty bone crushing Half-Life 2.
To those who have never stumbled upon this little project before a quick introduction I feel is necessarily. Firstly the team – at the moment we are a small mod development team dubbed ‘Fang’d’ and consist of (currently) five members – although we crave more fresh blood and if you would care to click here you’ll see a list of ‘job’ openings available here on the team.
Our purpose in life is to bring you, quite literally, the most engrossing plunge into that whole ‘tactical-shooter’ genera that you’ve heard enough of… I mean heard so much of – sorry. You won’t find your characters somersaulting from rooftop to rooftop; absorbing seemingly powerless clips of look worm led without any apparent damage being inflicted and so forth. In Reinstatement you have no continues, no extra lives, no re-spawn, no health pick ups - this game enforces the shocking and violent realism - faced by real Special Forces around the globe today. Tactics, patience and skill will be rewarded as opposed to any of that seemingly mindless arcade gun-ho malarkey that we’ve seen just about enough of. I could rant for days about the game here – but I’d only be repeating this stuff here – that if you’re still interested I suggest you have a read of.

Anyways – the site, in its current ‘developing’ state some pages may not yet be active – but I assure you that we are working franticly to solve these minor problems and by the weekend each glorious page should be accessible! Also notably our forums (a cleaver little array of threads posted onto the world-wide-inter-web to allow you, the public, to voice your opinions and such like) are not online as of yet – so in the mean time if you really wanna talk to any of us contact ME and I’ll see what I can do to fix ‘ya!.. yea, fix ‘ya good… :D

As for now – have a look around and write back to me with your opinions on the site, the mod, life in general if you really want! Most notably under the media section check out some of the character and weapon renders our boyz have been working on – again if you wanna comment on them drop us a mail! Also we’re keen to expand our loving arm around more talented members of the modding community – and hope that they can find solace and be content in our warm bosoms. For a list of very demanding, very challenging… yet very rewarding ‘job’ openings here at Fang’d click here.

That’s about all for now me thinks – we hope that you will remain with us until the glorious day that our mod is released, food for thought – ‘ey?
