Wavelength, and all the other sites hosted on Wavebot (the name of the server) are moving to a brand new data centre, and a brand new server. We'll have lots of disk space at our new location, so lots of growing room for the neat plans we have. Now for the bad news: the move entails a few days of down time, while the DNS updates. The website will be taken offline at some point on Monday (August 2nd) evening. The website will pop back online the moment your ISP updates its DNS, which usually takes 24-48 hours.

Well, people seem to think the mod is dead, due to lack of updates, although we are working on it quite a bit...

Guess I need to post some sort of update.

:)

Ok, so here goes...

Story
Currently we are finishing up the mission sequences, and starting to develop the storyboards per level while we tie them all together in one dramatic story. Its going quite well, and I think that C&C fans will not be let down, and non-C&C fans will enjoy the well played out plot.

Characters
While I originally had my doubts about showing some of our internal artwork until a later date, I have decided to go ahead and release this as one of several that will be released over the next couple of months to show the evolution of the game.
Blackhand Elite Soldier - Pictured below without helmet and goggles (as per shown in C&C Renegade).

Crazed and frightening, as well as biologically suited into parts of his armor, the Blackhand Elite Soldier will strike fear into anyone whom he crosses.

Buildings yes, thats right, a building!!!
General Usage Nod Building

While originally planned as something else, this building has made its way to the "general use" i.e. we will actually let you see this one pile of art. Created by one of our new concept artists (Gifny), it is quite a marvel, and shows the up and coming power and financial backing of Nod. Plated with solid glass windows along the arches, it really is an architectural masterpiece.

NOW stop thinking we died off, we are just concentrating on pre-code (non-game related) and art.

Good day.

The deadline for competition maps is now Sunday 8th August; this is due to my current out-of-the-country situation rather than the usual deadline whining that goes on

The Leprechaun has been working on a replacement map for the test map Swamp! The Germans and British take a break from the war to show off the details of the map - special thanks to all the beta testers that patiently helped with the screenshots. (In the screenshot: Hotel Security Guard, Sgt Garvey, Khaki Chum, Goettlicher Wind, Prime Suspect. Taking the shots was the_Leprechaun.)

Damn that looks sweet :). Tehehehehe
Below are some videos of our new weapon models in Sven Co-op v3.5. The models and their animations were created by Shannon Caldwell, our Lead 3D Character Animator/Designer.

We recommend you download the latest version of DivX before viewing.

Currently, these weapons are undergoing skinning by Josh "Flewda" Powers and Ben "Zeropulse" Mitchell. Other weapons will also be revamped for Sven Co-op v3.5, but we're saving those for later.

Join The Team - We are currently looking for the following talents:
  • Sound Designer - Realistic and super-natural sound effects.

  • Texture Artist - Photorealistic or surreal texturing for characters and weapons.

If you fit one of these descriptions, please email sniper@svencoop.com examples/past work. Online galleries are OK. We look for dedicated individuals that understand what proper grammar is, are not currently on more than one other project, and have the ability to meet reasonable deadlines.

We'd like to welcome James "Osidio" O'Donnell to the development team. He is a 3D and 2D Artist, and he will be injecting your eyeballs with pleasure in the next news update.

We've just upgraded the forum to vBulletin 3, be sure to check out all the new features. We'd like to thank those of you who have donated. The money from that has allowed us to upgrade to the latest version.
Winners of the Screenshot Contest will be announced in the next news update. Stay tuned.

According to recent conversations we've had with Valve's Doug Lombardi, Half-Life 2 will be passed on to publisher Vivendi for final mastering and duplication within days for it's early August target. The official appearance will make store shelves sometime in mid to late September.

In addition, we will be going to Valve to play test Half-Life 2 very soon. We will be broadcasting from Half-Life Radio and will provide screenshots and on-air interviews. More details on this exclusive play testing soon. Keep it tuned to Half-Life Radio.
