To make this project have more advanced options I had to make a study out of flash. Well, considering the fact that I don't know much about flash and especially when it comes to coding, I've decided to contact the guys over at Codename: Gordon.

So please welcome in our team, X-Tender! The coder behind Codename: Gordon. ( website ) He'll be creating the code for this project, which you'll be getting news about soon with details on how this is all set up (because there are a lot of people who are confused / misunderstand what this is all about).

And as of now, this project will be known as "Half Park custom character creator". We got permission to use the Half Park name from SamuelK, who had the original idea for the Half Park comics ( website )

Don't be confused with the title though. Although our goal is to make a program for you that allows you to create Half Park based comics, for the time being we're only focused on creating characters. In the future we might be adding options to create your own backgrounds, but these options aren't even discussed yet. Please be patient, and if you want to help out, you can still submit your stuff

I am currently home on leave for the weekend. I still have 3 weeks left of training with the Army (Infantry qualification). However, that doesn't stop the team from working!

This update brings some additional weapons to the Paramilitary and Guerrilla teams' arsenal:

A productive week has passed us by. Though we are not prepared to show the fruits of our labor just yet, we would like to welcome a few new members to our fold.

AnotherNewMember: His enthusiasm about this project is what really grabbed my attention. He will serve as a researcher/writer/consultant.

Broken_Spirit: Yet another concept artist has joined our group. His work is particularly excellent in character/unit design.

Kungfulovemonkey: Being a concept artist, kungfulovemonkey will definitely help out our team. He has shown great imagination and we look forward to seeing him contribute to Black Dragon.

Production has definitely picked up as of late. I know I have been saying this for a while, but more media is definitely coming soon. Please, keep checking back.

We will be talking more about this tonight on Half-Life Radio. We had a chance to talk with Doug Lombardi today, and there are a few things that we need to set straight regarding our recent news posting. Doug mentioned that they are not planning to release new shots or further "hands on" previews of Half-Life 2 at this time.

About the August/September Half-Life 2 release, Doug is sticking to the same comment he made a few weeks back: "We are planning to deliver a release candidate to Vivendi in August and we're hoping to see the product on store shelves this fall but we do not have a confirmed ship date at this time."

To all those people sending Doug Lombardi emails, "IS THIS TRUE?" you can stop now. There's only a certain amount of emails one person can answer in one day.

WON dies today. It is survived by its big brother Steam and the thousands of players. It will surely be missed.

Its last words were "go download steam".

There ya go, Junk Cannon and Double Barrel Shotgun. Thanks to our new skinners Problemss and Boysix (Scott), that heap of grey renders in our armory section is going to finally get skinned.

We could still use one more skinner who is very good at UV mapping (I hate UV mapping). Mod experience isn't required but a deffinate plus.

Sorry about the quality of those renders, if you would like to post these renders on your site (that means YOU half life 2 news sites :D ) then contact me, and I'll gladly send you higher quality pics. We're almost out of bandwidth for the month so I don't really want to risk it.

Also, check out our forums, theres tons of great discussion and idea exchanging going on. Who knows, you may even see whats next for the mod before anyone else, if you keep a watchful eye on things.

Well hello Hostile Community!!!

This news update will tell you a little about what is going on behind the scenes here. I got some stuff to tell you all.

I want to start with first giving everyone an apology on the coming patch. We have been working hard getting it together. I have to say the bug reports and the feedback from the community for the 1.3 release has been awesome. We are working on some minor tweaks right now as well as we are working on completing some map updates. We have had some sick dev team members and some more summer vacations over the past couple of weeks which has set us back a bit.

Now we are plan on releasing the patch soon after a mini-dev meeting in Canada. Charles, Fuse, MarmaladeMan, MasterMind, and a few others will be going to Toronto in the next couple of weeks to meet. (To my knowledge, this will be the largest gathering of HI developers since it started) We plan on wrapping up the patch while we meet, as well as discuss the plans to begin porting/developing to Half-Life 2.

Now what should expect in upcoming patch…
Rifter has given us some great new walk animations as well have been recompiled into the player models.

The Mapping Department has been working hard at upgrading and updating our current maps to show more of the diversity of the new FGD. Check out this image of the upcoming version of Aurora. We may expect to see an animated objective as well as a test in another map. (Bet you can’t guess what map it is…hehe!)
MasterMind is doing some minor tweaking based around the bug reports/feedback from the community and team.
One quick note…
The Hostile Report is still looking for some content contributors. Please contact Swatman via email or Private message him via our forums(you must register first) if you would like to contribute a development tutorial, custom map, HI related fiction, or any written materials like player’s guides or tactical overviews etc...

I would also like to thank the [MSA] Group for some great and diligent work on their part. For those who do not know, the [MSA] (Modeling, Skinning, and Animating) is a group of community members who are working on some projects for content within game by the community. This dedicated group of guys from the community are working closely with some of the developers to make new and improved models for Hostile Intent. If you would like to know more check out the following thread from our forums.

Well, that’s it for now.
Stay tuned, we will have more on the meeting and some more details of the patch coming soon.
