As our new website approaches things are getting tense, as you may have noticed all user functionality has now been removed from the current site. Our core team now work from a private development area (if your a core member and you don't know this then read your mail!!. great things are coming - hold onto your seatbelts!

On another note - anyone that will be visiting the Edinburgh International Games Festival should drop me a line or keep an eye out for someone wearing a Hull Breach T-Shirt The tickets cost a fortune but the event should be well worth it and hopefully our team will be making some new friends within the games industry.

It's been a while since we showed the public anything new, so here's something to keep all you fan's happy....

Below is a screenshot of Tor, the new Xen monster coming in Sven Co-op v3.5. He was modeled and animated by Shannon Caldwell, and his skin was produced by James "Osidio" O'Donnell.

Tor is an intelligent breed, and he ranks higher up than the Alien Controllers or Alien Grunts. He is an over-seer of the Xen forces, and he has the ability to call in a small number of reinforcements. Tor, unlike his fellow Alien Grunts, will be much more swift with his attacks, and he'll also carry some "smart" xen-grenades that'll have you running for your life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contest Winners - The following players have won the screenshot contest:

Gobanzo, Mad_Max, Dred_furst, JJ45, ORANGEKID

You'll be getting your prizes soon in the next Sven Co-op update. However, we're still not going to tell you what the new donation feature is just yet. Regardless, it should be pretty easy to find, and we're sure you'll like him, I mean, it.

Everyone who has donated to the mod will also be given the new feature in v3.5.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEAM Update - Well, we're finally listed in Steam now. We're not downloadable via Steam yet (No mod is), but we're listed. At the #3 spot no less! As a result we've been getting a massive amount of players trying out the mod.
Our plans with Valve regarding automatic game updates/downloading and similar have not materialized yet, but we're sure they're working on it. It was a great move for Valve. It gets the word out that there are other modifications besides Counter-Strike. ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Job Applicants - We'd also like to mention that we've gotten a lot of applicants for the jobs we posted in the last news update (Sound Designer and Texture Artist)

That's great, but it appears hardly anyone has sent us example work. A simple "I'd like to apply for the job" doesn't get you the job, we want to see what you've done in the past. So please do get back to us, if you have sent this kind of email. The job positions are still open.

That's all for today. In the next news update, we hope to show more Sven Co-op v3.5 media.

On Saturday July 31st, the Summer Extreme CPL event crowned a Natural Selection champion. After a fierce match on ns_hera team #cri was the winner against team TAU. Both teams played the match on the giant Intel stage for the spectators to watch. Large plasma screens were displayed at the front of the stage to show the players view during the match. Charlie "Flayra" Cleveland was on hand to help and watch the tournament unfold. The event was conducted and coordinated by Paul "SolarCurve" Drew and the help of CPL staff. Thanks for all the players and teams who participated in the tournament. Everyone please congratulate team #cri for their victory!

Present at the CPL were many prominent NS community members. This picture features some of them, listed left to right (starting in the back row): Porcha, SolarCurve, SupaFly, Flayra, The Jolly Munchkin, cri.tical, Forlorn, Crab and Donkley. There was much talk of strategy and balance, and much pizza was consumed. We occupied a relatively small area of the B.Y.O.C., but we held our own, and showed NS to anyone that would listen. It was quite a thrill seeing the NS finals (Porcha commanding here) being played on the big plasma screens in front of a large audience. Thanks for making the long trip to Dallas guys! Also look for an upcoming video interview from AmpedNews, talking with Flayra and SolarCurve about all manner of things NS.

In other competitive news, there's a new 16-team double elimination tournament being run by the folks at Momentofimpact.us. It will be covered by the great folks at AmpedNews, and there will be a handful of HLTV servers for everyone to watch. Matches start this Saturday, and with their current team roster, these should be some intense battles indeed. The prize will be a dedicated server provided by #mav-hosting. Talk to TribalDaniel on #nsinvitational, or visit http://nsi.momentofimpact.us to for full team and bracket info.

FLF is officially listed on Steam as a 3rd party game. This was a project that has been in the works for some time, but has seen its share of difficulties due to game updates, issues with Steam, connecting with the appropriate people, and so forth. As of yesterday, however, the latest Steam update showed FLF along with several other games listed under the 3rd party category. It is our hope that this will get some fresh players onto the FLF scene. According to outside sources, last night there were two to three full servers going at one time. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome any new players who are checking out FLF for the first time, and remind our vets to show poise and good sportsmanship during games. More information will be posted when it becomes available, so keep checking back for the latest news. If you have any questions or comments check out our Team page by clicking here to find an appropriate contact.

hi all, I just wanted to show all you WoT's fog in action (in my creappy map). The fog is totally customizable, from being able to change colors to changing starting distance - ending distance, density, and changing the time until rendering fog - end rendering fog.

Hey all, we got a new co-leader for us, everyone welcome Bashh to the team. He will not only be co-leading WoT, but he will also be doing UV-Wrapping, Animating, Skinning, and maybe some modelling. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.

The fourms need more posts! Please join the forums and be active in them, for the sake of them!

This has been an interesting week, to say the least. Some of you may have noticed that we experienced some website issues. Those issues have been resolved. However, we had to delete our pervious forum. As a result, all posts and members are gone. There is no need to worry, since the most important information was saved. Nevertheless, I encourage all of you to rejoin our forums.

Additionally, I have a little surprise for everyone today. Our web designer made this for us during his free time. Not only is it an AWESOME wallpaper that is currently occupying my desktop, but is it also a little preview to how the new website will look. Personally, I can’t wait to see how everything turns out.

See you all later and enjoy the wallpaper.

The Marine Bot team has released the latest version of its product, Marine Bot 0.81 Beta for both Windows and Linux. This most recent incarnation of the popular computer opponent has support for Firearms 2.9-2.9c along with an abundance of improvements over the 0.7 version.

Bots can now use weapon silencers, fight in and under water, fight at longer ranges and make better use of the FA skills system. There have also been many improvements to the behavior of medics, who will actively seek out wounded teammates to treat. On top of this, there have been lots of improvements for waypointer, which means creating your own waypoints is a much easier task which is now being carried out by various third party mappers in order to test the gameplay of their new maps.

Full details of the new releases along with download links can be found on the Marine Bot website (www.marinebot.tk).
