The mod Insects Infestation has been covered in the Dutch magazine Power Unlimited:

Guess what ! Power Unlimited, a popular dutch gaming magazine has published an interesting new about us.

Here the translation:

How's this for really weird - an insect mod that Works on the HL 2 engine! Yep, it's called Insects Infestation and you play - don't be scared - an insect of your choice. Ants, termites and wasps fight it out with one another. Every insect has its pros and cons (a wasp can fly but it's vulnerable). You also have to build a base and reinforce it with things like flesh-eating plants. You can use other animals as transport and you can mutate into a stronger insect. Is this weird or what?

Check the Insects Infestation site for the scans of the magazine and for more information on this.

HLstats 1.31 has officially been released. This version contains numerous fixes as well as support for multiple Half-Life mods, as well as Counter-Strike: Source.

If you are updating from a release earlier than 1.30 then please read the release notes for 1.30. HLstats 1.31 has no database changes, therefore no database update file is provided. Users will need to update the perl files and the files on their webserver.

Please note; Counter-Strike: Source support has been added to live stats but at this time it is based on rough notes. If any bugs are found or any issues/concerns need to be made--please use the HLstats forum.

  • Fix: Removed bad session code

  • Fix: allow_call_time_pass_reference in 'hlstatsinc\\hlquery_funcs.inc'

  • Fix: Function returning false instead of empty in 'hlstatsinc\\hlquery_funcs.inc'v
  • Fix: Removed unwanted debug code left from pre 1.30

This mod provides several changes to gameplay as following:-

1) BulletTime....yes, but it is not the same like in BulletTime mod. When you turn on bullettime, the gravity goes on its half, the gravity gun grows stronger, timescale goes on its 1/3 and the damage dealed to NPC's by headshots grows 2x.
2) Weapon sounds - weapon sounds changed for 357 Python, Pulse Rifle (AR2), Grenade ticking, Pistol, Shotgun and SMG.
3) Nearmiss sounds - added 5 new nearmiss sounds.
4) Weapon damage increased for almost every weapon.
5) Weapon magazine capacity increased for few weapons and maximum held magazine capacity increased as well.
6) Horsepower for buggy and airboat increased a lot (adding lot of fun to gameplay)
7) Canceled the Valve startup video -> faster loading.

It's official - Citizen-132 is moving back to Half-Life 2. When we decided to experiment into FarCry, we left open room to come back in case it didn't work out the way we hoped. Although FarCry has a beautiful engine, the tools and community were not powerful enough to back Citizen-132. The project has become even more massive, and we've been featured in PCgamer UK, and soon to be featured in PCgamer US. We hope that our move back to HL2 will provide us with both the community and tools to make a great mod. We are recruiting as usual, so send in your applications! There is a bit storage of media that will be released in a couple of days, as well as a contest annoucement! Stay tuned, and send us your thoughts about the move back - smurray@citizen-132.com .

Some new pieces of good looking concept art have been put online by the team of the mod The Masamune Project:

It's been a while, hasn't it? Over these past few months, we haven't really given you guys anything to stare at. Besides three images, all we've really shown you is that we're a fresh new take on the modding community, with a unique 3rd person hacknslash/gunplay modification for Half-Life 2.

Well, we're proud to announce two new concept art images. Not only that, but we have finally started putting up our site. Despite only having forums up right now, you can sort of see what our flash site is like by going here.

The two new CA images contain the Special Forces of the guard units inhabiting Mokta (the planet the story of the game is based around) of a regiment called the 'Sentry'.

Sentry Special Forces Guard #1

Sentry Special Forces Guard #2

(Since these images were rather large, I had to convert them into .gif files. Please click on them to view much-better versions of these images )

I hope you guys appreciate the new information, and we'll try our best to release more information as soon as it's available. Please leave comments in our profile, and we'd really love it if we had people join up on the forum. There, you can ask questions about the mod and also comment or even leave suggestions on how we can make it better/explain it better. Thanks a lot, and I hope you'll stay tuned for more information about "Project Masamune".
