The first set of media has been released by the team of the horror mod Psycho Hill:

This is the first set of Psycho Hill Media Updates that will be released in the next couple of days, until christmas time. The current media is showing 2 concept arts from possible zombie candidates for Psycho Hill. Both created by our new concept artist, shelley. The female zombie is holding a shovel, which sadly can't be seen too well. The upcoming concepts will most likely feature in-color zombies and the main character - the Deputy of Breighton.

Here are the links to the graphics:

We have some other, older media on our main page at www.electronic-labs.com/psychohill and everything mod-related ofcourse can be discussed at our gradually growing forums at www.electronic-labs.com/forum.

Thanks for your time,

Mathias Burmeister

You can now find a interesting article about Half-Life 2 at NTSC-UK. Here some words from the detailed article:

On November 16th 2004 Valve unleashed Half-Life 2, and after several months of an infamously protracted development period, hype could no longer mask the game's own veil of promise.

It was here. It was out.

But did it live up to everything people across the world had hoped for? Or were the early reviews over-inflated nonsense pandering to an audience they didn't want to upset? The answer is simple. Valve have created what can perhaps be considered the finest adventure game ever made, and the purpose of this feature is to examine exactly why their crowning achievement succeeds.

Source: Hostile Waters
Remember Carrier Command? Rage did. They remembered it so well they stripped it down, sexed it up and released it in the form of 2001's Hostile Waters. But without any way to create custom content and no multi-player, despite it's brilliance the game lacked longevity. Not any longer.

The Hostile Waters site is now live! Information is thin on the ground this early on but over time it will provide news and information about the mod as it develops and be the home for the community. The site is also a new place for the Hostile community, disbanded with the closure of the official Interplay forums, to gather.
  • Compelling script by Warren Ellis

  • The voices of Tom Baker, Glynis Barber and Paul Darrow

  • Heart-stopping action

  • Unique, powerful interface allowing the command and control of up to ten vehicles
    • Picture-in-picture helps the player monitor vehicles tasks and progress

    • Control units in 3rd person action modes as well as traditional top-down real-time strategy mode

  • Land, sea and air units

  • Comprehensive in-game tutorials

  • Over 20 missions including stealth, brute force and cunning

  • NEW: Huge graphical, AI, physics and animation improvements while keeping the same visual style

  • NEW: The ability to create custom content including vehicles and islands

  • NEW: An expansive multi-player element including:
    • A Halo 2-style team/clan-centred 'join game' interface alongside the more traditional server list method

    • Multiple gametypes: deathmatch, carrier/team deathmatch, assault, etc.

    • Customisable vehicles, from weaponry and armour to colour highlights and decals

    • Co-op mode against the computer both on pre-existing single-player and new, dedicated islands

Source: Criminal Velocity
We at Criminal Velocity would like to announce that we are now in full, active production. This mod was inspired by the TSRP community as an RP style street mod. The design includes everything from starting gangs to street racing in a free-roaming environment. At the moment we are coding the basic city scene and all the necessary accoutrements (pedestrians, NPC vehicles, gun store interface, ect.). As you can see below, we also have a number of screenshots to show you for our upcoming maps, weapons and other assorted items. Our 3 coders are currently working on a number of different projects, including vehicle physics, randomized pedestrian movement, weapon purchase, day/night cycle and many more. For those who do not know what Criminal Velocity is, we suggest you head to our site or forums to find out! This is not your average gang vs gang mod, it’s whatever the player make it to be. The mod is multiplayer based and can have as many gangs as you want. Also, with the use of the wonderful steam ID’s we have worked out a system in which you can load your characters from your hard drive and create gangs that can exist in multiple servers. We like to use the motto, “pushing to limits”, because that is what innovative modders do.

After much turmoil, we have decided to downsize to only our top and most detected modders. We have gone from a team of 25 to a dedicated team of 13 and are ready to expand some more. Our board of directors (Co-Leaders and Leader) are in control and ready to organize the project. We have been in existence since January ’04 but have kept ourselves silent and ready. Now is the time to bring Criminal Velocity into the light!

We can promise you great and grand things from Criminal Velocity, we do not intend to give up by any means and are here to please the community. As it is our policy, all suggests are readily considered and are thought about, not just thrown away. Because the mod is for the community, we might as well give the community what they want under reasonable terms. So, get ready for some extreme street action. When Criminal Velocity comes into play, grab yourselves a nice car, a group of followers and rule the streets and servers!

IRC (Speak with team members when available): irc://irc.quakenet.org/criminalvelocitymod

If you are interested in joining our project, we are primarily looking for the following positions to fill.

1-2 Vehicle Modelers
1-2 Additional Skinners
1-2 Additional Coders

Any other position may be accepted, so don’t hesitate to ask! To apply visit the forums and post an application in the proper forum. Or contact GTC via MSN, IRC or E-mail( generaltim157@hotmail.com )

Source: Curse
Well, as you may have noticed, there has not been as much news posts as you all are used to. The updates for the coming months will be more based on the community, rather than the project (oh, but don't worry, there will definately be some pleasent suprises coming up).

First off...
Our plan for the coming months is simply this. Instead of trying to be in the initial "mod rush" or race, we will be focusing more on the actual QUALITY, rather than quantity, and the time the precious (preciouuuussss) fans wait will definately be worth it. But, don't think we are slacking! Already, the Curse team has gotten into gear and we are starting to work on the music (more on that later), character models, concept art, and coding!

Secondly, I would like to introduce a few people...
Prevail: The new, super slick, pipin' hot right off the shelves 2D Artist! He will be working on the icons, the menu, and other crazy things that I really can not think of at this moment!

89_tH: Another steamin' hot new addition to the team, but in the music category! He already has mucho mas titles made, and you can check them out at "http://radio.mixman.com/mmr_15.html". Look for titles by "89_tH". He mostly has his titles in Hip Hop, and Drums and Bass. My favorite titles by him are Blue Telsa, Medieval, and DnB Collab. Great Job!

Sre: He will be working with 89_tH in the music category! Way out, man!

If I left anybody out, please slap me in the face to remind me.

Thirdly, now for the community part...
The community will play a huge role in Curse. Nothing can strive without it's supportive community and fanbase. If you want to support Curse in any way, you can join a little group of people called "CCC", or "Curse Community Content" (Yeah, I know you like that slick name). Please, be active within the forums. It is safer here. (Yeah, I love Half-Life 2 a little too much)

And one last thing:
is it going to be about me getting voiced?
Just to bring a smile accross the world, this news post is about him getting voiced in mIRC! Everyone give a round of applause (Yeah, I know this is completely amazing, I know)!

The Citizen-132 kindly presents 9 new pictures for your viewing pleasure. They come from our HL2 weapons, as well as some creepy shots of our Half-Life 1 demo. The weapons are modeled and skinned by KingKong, and the maps were created by Evert and Minotauro, with HUD/coding work by Epit0miz3, Taco241, and Iceshaft07. We hope you enjoy.

With the release of the HL2 SDK, Citizen-132 is looking for more Source-based level designers. If you are interested, please apply to smurray@citizen-132.com.

Source: Arena
Sickness Inc., the team behind Doom3Fortress is happy to announce the birth of Rocket Arena: Source! Expect much out of this mod. Level design is already underway as we wait for the full SDK and wait to gain a few more members. RAS will be our own version of Rocket Arena based on the awesome series of mod's for the Quake series by David 'crt' Wright. This mod is dedicated to crt and everyone who helped make the previous Rocket Arena mods, and thier work and dedication creating one of the best mods to date.

We are in search of talent for our team. We are looking for a few coders, artists, modelers, and a whole bunch of level designers. We are going to keep with the RA legacy and try to get maps, as long as well done, from anyone whos interested in making one. Its pretty easy to include any DM level into our mod. We will help and work with any 3rd party level designer to get thier level or levels working as they need to be for RAS. We are also keeping our eye out for someone willing to host a development/test server for us and someone talented at making gamebased movies. If you think you have what it takes and are interested in being part of the next RA phenom, drop me a line at photeknix@cox.net

Enjoy the site. Be sure to join us in #rocketarena on Gamesurge. (gamesurge has been having some troubles recently, but keep trying and you'll get on.) Also, make sure to drop by our forums and speak your mind. Stick around, theres much more to come!
