I just had the chance to interview Talnova from the up coming HL2 mod 'Dracten'. Check out this interview and if your interested about the mod check out their website hosted right here on hlgaming.com.
Half-Life Gaming: Where did you come up with the idea for this mod?
Talnova: A novel I was writing back in 1991 - it didn't really have a name then and the idea came from my imagination, also other influences. Classic Video Games!

Half-Life Gaming: When you started, how did you get a team together and how hard was it to do so? And why?
Talnova: I got a team started by looking around for those who had the same interests. Wanted to do something cool and new. Put up a website and said "Here is Dracten" care to join? The Hardest Part is finding those people, who have the same interests. You have to look everywhere on the internet and just hope they find you or you find them.

HMD is finally back after nearly a month!

There's been a few changes to the site design and to the source code (Perl) to make the site load that little bit faster.

HMD is also now at its new location: http://hmd.hostileintent.org/!

Some new download URL's for all maps will be available later today once the downloads are uploaded to edgefiles.com and activated.

In the mapping area of Hostile Intent lately, hi_elysium has gone under some extreme testing and will be ready for release pretty soon!

hi_sands_v3 will definately be ready for release by the end of this week.

Sourcemapping has put online a server for testing custom made Half-Life 2 DeathMatch and Counter-Strike: Source maps:

#sourcemapping on irc.gamesurge.net is proud to announce our new dedicated map test hosting service.

We have a 10mbit dedicated server for halflife2 DM and CS:S, that you can reserve for organized map play tests, or if you want an experienced group to test your map with you, we can arrange this as well.

This is a free service we are offering to anyone who wishes to test a custom map or mod. You will be given full ftp access as well as Rcon privilages to the server for the timeframe agreed upon.

During that time no one else will have access to the servers config files except the requestor and the admins. As mentioned above your free to hold your own private play test, or request some of the experienced members of #sourcemapping to assist in your test.

More information is available at http://www.sourcemapping.tk or visit us on irc (#sourcemapping on irc.gamesurge.net) We look forward to helping the community expand to new heights. See you there!

A Half-Life 2 DeathMatch Machinima in the style of the Red vs. Blue movies is being made by isay-whatho.com:

Just a little update to let you all know that I'm leading a team of talented voice actors and scriptwriters in creating a Half-Life 2 Deathmatch (I'm sure most of you know what this is) Sitcom. The idea was originally conceived at the PC Gamer Magazine forum (UK), and the episodes will be primarily hosted here, or perhaps on a mini-site here if the show takes off. Stay tuned within the next week for a...

TRAILER!!!

DUM DUM DUMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, so, keep checking for updates and stuff.

Go to isay-whatho.com for more info on this project.

Well the Collector's Editions have landed here in Europe (I'm going to pick up mine coming Tuesday) and their basically big tin boxes. And Ant thought what many of us think of the box. Namely that it looks like a cookies tin. So he went and made some great looking Half-Life 2 cookies. You can check up on his work right here.

I am pleased to announce a joint decision between Kathunx and I along with the rest of our staff from Mist Modification and Cut Throats Interactive to join the Pirated Studios Community. We have fully moved our forums and staff into the PS community, and will work very closely with the teams of the PS Mods. We are very proud and happy to have the chance to make games with our friends here at Pirated Studios. From this point forward, we create our games as a community. While each mod, including our own still keeps and maintains their own seperate ambitions and agendas, we will work together and help eachother in each creating a Pirate Gaming Experience like no other; across multiple platforms. We will still operate on the web out of www.Mistmod.com but from this point forward, we are a part of the PS community.
