The MechMod team reports that they have been featured in the latest edition of the PC Gamer UK. The magazine has devoted a full page article to the great mod:

MechMod has been featured in the world's most famous PC games magazine, that's right: PCGamer! The full page article talks a lot about the features our Alpha has to offer, and also shows some screenshots of ingame action. The entire Alpha is also featured under the Mods section in the January 2005 Edition's DVD. So those who don't want to download the whole mod can easily get it off the DVD.

The MechMod team would like to thank Mark Sutherns from PC Gamer UK for selecting our mod for the feature making the above possible, we really appreciate it.

So what are you waiting for? Go out and grab the latest edition of PC Gamer UK! And for those who want a sneak peak, here is a scan of the full page article, click on the following logo to see more:

Great coverage and for more head on over to the MechMod site. But wait, that's not all. Recently the team also released some more media and information on their Half-Life 2 version:

MechMod on Half-Life 2 will be nothing like our HL1 Alpha, which was just a test mod created whilst waiting for HL2 to be released. The Outline for MechMod Beta (for Half-Life 2) can be found at the following link:

While our programmers have been having a ball going through the new SDK and fiddling with it to their heart's content, our modellers have been at work creating some new mech models for the Planetary Alliance (PA) Assault Class.

Mech 2, modelled by Va$h2k4:

Keep watching the dev journals on our forums, we always release WIP screenshots and media in there ahead of releasing them on news.

As said for more head on over to the MechMod site.

A holiday media update has been released at the site of Mist:

A little holiday update for ye, mates! Heres a couple new weapons to pillage with.

The Blunderbuss is a shotgun-like weapon firing a wide blast of buckshot a short distance, excellent for those close-up encounters or clearing decks. This weapon is carried by the Black Buccaneers crew. (See Teams Page)

The Cursed Pirates Cutlass doesnt rank high for craftsmanship, but is deadly in the hands of an Undead Pirate. Along with the other swords, Primary fire deivers a slash and Secondary fire is used to parry or block an enemy's sword. More info on Sword combat to come.

Lastly, yer cap'n has some stocking stuffers for ye landlubbers tonight. Our amazing sound artist CaptainRED has been busy at work creating the sound files that will make up the audio portion of Mist. Here is a little preview of what Mist Mod will sound like.

I hope that everyone has a Happy Holiday Season. Starting next year expect to see a lot more from Half-Life Gaming. For now...go spend some time with loved ones. As I will be today and tomorrow. Expect a slow down in news posts.

I was going to upload a few new files tonight but I can not get the File system to work for some reason. I will take it apart before I go to bed and hopefully i will track down the problem.

Be safe!

We are also proud to present our first ever ingame screenshot featuring Skorz's work-in-progress map and a Suomi smg.

Furthermore, the info page has been rewritten to better describe the mod and reflect our goals.
