It's that time again to try and promote some good looking and playable source maps. This time I present you all with two great Half-Life 2 Deathmatch maps, namely Half-Life 2 DM_Motel_B1 and Half-Life 2 DM_Stoka Final:

Half-Life 2 DM_Motel_B1:

A large map based in and around an abandoned motel-like building. It includes the main motel building, a basement, a small sewer area, and an outdoors area.

Half-Life 2 DM_Stoka Final:

The final version of the Half-Life 2 map DM_Stoka.

You can get Half-Life 2 DM_Motel_B1 from here and Half-Life 2 DM_Stoka Final can be found here.

Related: The Action Half-Life Directors Cut

The The Action Half-Life Directors Cut team has released their RC1 version to the public:

AHL: Directors Cut is a project started by the Ministry of Action. The ministry is a group of people who still enjoy AHL and think that it has a life ahead of it. In our opinion AHL is a wonderful formula for online play, but a few bad design decisions spoiled the brew.

Thus we have been busy making improvements to AHL v1, which was meant to be the final one. We have tried to improve overall accessibility, weapon behaviour and content. At release we will put up a big changes list that shows all new features and changes.

We hope that this new version will get some people playing again. We also aim to maintain a flow of new players coming in and trying out AHL. Maybe people will even be inspired again to make new content. We are realistic and do not expect 200 players by tomorrow; but AHL still has plenty to offer!

The full changelog/features list and download mirrors can be found at the site of Action Half-Life Directors Cut site.

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you of some new team members we have fairly recently aquired, but have been too busy over Christmas period to let you guys know.

Welcome goes out to Fenris, who is a programmer and seems particularly interested in the AI side of things which is indeed very good because of the need of some high level AI in this mod.

Next comes Enmity, he is a 2d artist and skinner and is very talented you may have seen his work posted on the forums recently.

Next comes Mitlancer who is a talented model designer and has done a few pieces of work for us to date.

Finally comes Esben, who is a sound engineer (aka Music dude) he will be producing the sound of JR, so if you want a specific type of music in JR then he's the guy to catch.

That's it for now. If there is anyone who would like to be a part of our team and think you have the time and skill to be a quality member then either, hit the Join button and fill in the details, however at the moment this method isn't THAT fantastic, another way is to e-mail me directly, d0Cd@fireflyuk.net, or contact me via MSN, RobJohnson60@hotmail.com.

Like so many others around the world, we at Google are following the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami that has hit many parts of Asia and east Africa. Below are a few sites already set up to provide information and handle donations for victims throughout the region. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

Welcome back to Bloodthirst, and I hope you've all had a good Christmas and New Year. We've got a story update for you today. To make things more interresting, the story has been put on simulated ancient paper and we've got an illustration to go with it. This is a short story written by GrumpySam and describes a battle that takes place between Roman soldiers and the Dreadlord. It's written in first person from the view of one of the Vampire Lords. There's three segments, so just click the button links below to view each segment and the illustration:

A good looking new design has been put online for The Half-Life Mod Resource, along with updates and more:

It’s been a while since the Mod Resource had a update, and with the new year comes a new site. PHP/database driven, the new site allows for quicker updates and easier news postings. As always, if there are any sites interested in affiliating/trading links, send me an email. Hopefully some Half-Life 2 mods get released soon so we can all get back to enjoying the Source engine with some new scenarios! Many of the mods in development look great, and I’m sure we’re looking forward to all of them.

Thanks guys
