Sorry for the downtime latley, mates! Our crew has been mad at work producing our game, so heres a few of the latest developments.
First, we want to announce the new pages that have been added to the site. You may now visit each of our three game team's pages, with Class and Weapon information. Also, we have put up a FAQ and a partially completed Features page. Feel free to browse around and see whats new. I would also like to welcome Man0-TPF, Jadawin, Krayola, RobinTheRedbeard, Ratkin, Athul, and Hamst3r to the team! Welcome aboard, mateys.
Our next bit of news it the first of the three long rifles featured in Mist, the Cut Throat Musket.

A longer version of your standard musket, the Cut-Throat Musket is presented with a more accurate shot, as well as a better view down the sights (zoom). Everyone fears a Cut-Throat musketeer and his musket, even from 100 yards away.

Next, we have three Character Models to show you from the Cursed Pirates team. Below are unskinned models of the Captain, Swashbuckler and Musketeer classes.

The Cursed Pirates Captain is a powerful position, sought after by the entire crew. The highest scorer on your team is automatically given the Captain's spot. When someone surpasses the Captain's score, they are given the Captain's spot when the Captain dies.

The Cursed Pirates Swashbuckler is the master of close combat. Arm yerself with an axe, sword, or anything that can be weilded to slice and dice your enemy, combined with the speed of this bloodthirsty combatant, you have the most deadly close ranged player on the ground and sea.

The Cursed Pirates Musketeer is the master of the rifle. It is said that when a trained Musketeer is in their prime, they can hit a fly off of the swishing tail of a horse. Use the Musketeer class when long ranged skills are in need.

Lastly, we want to thank the skurvies at PC Gamer Magazine who have included us in their latest issue, the Ultimate Shooter Guide. We are included with a few other upcoming mods in their HL2 Mod Roundup section. (Pg. 88) Click image to enlarge.

Reads: Concept: If you have a thirst for battle, pillage and plunder on the high seas, Mist is the mod for you. The multiplayer action pits the Cut Throats against the Black Buccaneers against the Cursed Pirates amongst the treasure-rich Mist isles. Your skill at both ship-to-ship cannon battles and man-to-man sword-fighting will be tested with multiplayer modes ranging from variations on capture the flag and deathmatches to plundering and jailbreak modes.

The time has come for us to open our public competition for the creation of the Stargate : The Last Stand storyline. This storyline is for both the contiguious solo and multiplayer parts to the mod. Your stroyline entry can contain anything you wish it to, although the story should fit with our name, The Last Stand. Anyone can enter the competition and you can make as many entries as you want. Obviously the winner of the competition will get their storyline incorporated into the mod and will also gain a position on the team for possible future additions to the story. The closing date for this competition is Friday 11th February 2005

XYZ: GLASS CEILING is a single player action/survival-horror Half-Life 2 Mod.

Penelope Moore is roaming the zombie infested streets of Resin with her baby, looking for a safe place to hide. She is utterly defenceless and her maternal and survival instincts are the only things keeping her from giving up. Anna Livian is the ass kicking, ball busting policewoman. Armed to the teeth with the best weapons she can lay her hands on, no zombie can stand in her way. Faith brings these two women together and now they must rely on each other to survive the horrors.

But those are not regular zombies... There is a big twist on the formula that affects not only the story, but also gameplay features. Mixing pure action with survival horror, XYZ:GC offers an original cinematic story and unique gameplay twists.

This is a London based project by IGDA London Chapter Members. The goal is to provide pseudo-industrial experience for members looking to break in to the industry by producing a commercial quality game within a nine-month deadline.

Citizen-132 has done it! We recently got our first weapon, the UMP, into HL2. It is modeled, skinned, animated, has custom hands, and its IN one of our maps.

I have completely re-designed the website, based upon a great tutorial on the internet. I have edited the ideas I found though, to include Shurai's cool kunai logo, as well as our forum login box and random image from the gallery. The site I am told is much cooler in appearance, and also sports support for those with a screen res higher than 1024x768 (apparently). I am quite pleased with this outcome, and ssjthamuz has edited the skin of the image gallery, which ties it in closer to the site/forum design. We shall change the image in the gallery, the current one is merely temporaray.

I need a mapper who is not busy and free to map for the GW mod.

Game Modes
-------------------------
1) Deathmatch
Players choose a critter, and just battle it out for personal score in an arena.

2) Team Deathmatch
Players band together in groups to come out ontop!

3) HOARD!
In hoard, two teams battle for the highest score by collecting orbs and taking them to the score zone. When a player dies, an orb is spawned and anybody may pick it up. If a player is carrying orbs and dies, all orbs that were collected drop and scatter around the player.

4) Survivor
Basically king of the hill. Everyone gets 'x' amount of lives and the last player alive gains 10 points and then all players respawn again.


The two gameplays we have ready are DM and HOARD.


The name of the mod is changing to KamiKaze Critters and it is time for that update.
  • Models ported to Hl2

  • Test map made for testing

  • Sounds added

We just need a map for the monster to play in and screenshots soon on that.

We need help:

We need to get someone to re-animate the players in Half-life2 format with 9way blending to make the monsters be able to do: walk blends, and new attacks etc.

Sadly YamahaAlex (Mapper) will be leaving us, and we are now in need of experienced mappers. Experienced is the key word here, so please don't apply for a position with us if you are not skilled enough to take on this task.

Requirements:
  • Have previously worked on a game/mod or have work to show you are at that standard.

  • Able to work well with other teammates (at times, you could be making maps to their specifications)

  • Able to show work at least once a week

  • Remember to send examples of your work

  • An interest in the Dragonball world

If you're interested, leave a post in the "Apply for Staff" section in the forums, or send an e-mail to admin@dbadventures.net and we will review your work then contact you as soon as we have made a decision. This should not take more than a couple of hours after we have seen your e-mail. (E-mails are checked many times a day). Also we can not stress how important examples of your work are. Basically, if you have nothing to show us, we have no position for you on the mod. Examples can be in the form of screenshots, but compiled maps are prefered.

We are looking forward to hearing from you, and working with you in the future.
