Hey guys, been a while :P We have a new alpha version out! We are now up to V0.3 :D We are working on including the class system and the teams. Cale has recently coded a neat little weather system to for us to use as David and Chris continue their hard work. Things have been moving along quite smoothly in the modeling department and mapping is getting a hold on things. I would like to thank everyone for their continual support in this mod. There will continue to be times where you do not hear too much from us. But do not fear! It does not mean there hasn’t been any progess or that we have left. We all just have outside lives that need more attention at times. So once again, thank you for your continual support and faith in this mod.

The Valve store is now open for business. Featuring Half-Life 2 hats, Counter-Strike shirts, and more, this is the only place to get the official Valve game gear. Please take a look and let us know what else you'd like to see in the store.

The AG2 Team would like to welcome new mappers Eclipse, PaulH, and Cyrus258 to the ranks. We are still looking to take on a couple of extra quality mappers in the near future, so if anyone is interested, please get in contact.

The team may also be willing to take on an extra coder at some point, but only if that person is very experienced with the SDK and has plenty of time to give.

The site has recently been updated with a new batch of screenshots from some of the maps that are currently being built for Adrenaline Gamer 2.

Waldo of Day of Defeat Source has posted some intersting news in the Steam Forums :

"That's a pretty good assessment Sikari, so I just quoted your post. Most of us put in time on HL2, CS:Source and Half-Life:Source before shifting back to DoD:Source, so that did slow things down a bit. But we're working full speed ahead on it now (and have been for a while). Patience DoD fans. Patience. It's gonna be nice IMO. Quite nice. And no, it's not just a straight port."

Our two latest weapons for BRAWL are up on the site. More exclusives this week on the way.
We need one more mapper and a lead coder with Half-Life and Half-Life2 SDK experience.

We're a bit later than planned with this update, but hey, this is game development, so the "when it's done" rule applies. We think you'll find it was worth the wait.

Let's start with our team news. This month Unikorn and Coffeeman have joined our ranks. Unikorn will help us out coding and has already proven up to the challenge (more about our coding achievements in a next update :p. Coffeeman is a very talented professional character animator who has shown interest in our work and is helping us out animating the alien. [He's currently working for Blur studios who have just been nominated for an oscar with their animated short Gopher Broke, so cross your fingers all].

In our weapon development department we have a special treat this update. The VT Savior IX, aka the railgun-that-kills-the-alien, has been skinned by Reason. It was the first model he skinned without a reference, but he whipped up a very nice piece:

Four more conventional weapons got skinned as well. Reason re-skinned the Red Devil and the frag delay grenade, and finished the SKMX knife by giving it a skin for the Rogues team. Penguin did an excellent job on skinning the Heckler and Koch G-11.

It's also fun to be able to release something else than models and skins once in a while. Purerage has been working on a large map set in a desolate, destroyed city. He has taken this map beyond our expectations by adding craters, destroyed highways, and so on. Here are some work in progress screenshots, so you get an impression of what you'll see in the betas:

On another note, we have got numerous requests by fans over the past year for wallpaper versions of our concept art. At last, here they are.

As a special treat, we have added a concept/model WiP of our Alien. The alien's appearance is the one thing that has changed most during the development of this mod, but I can safely say we have finally got it right. Designed by Swirlee, based on Golan's work, modeled by Simon and posed and soon to be animated by Coffeeman. Trust me, you'll fear it.

And last but not least (hey, we're showing off anyways), our mod has been covered in the January issue of PC Gamer UK. We were impressed by the insight in our concept the interviewer displayed, so it is not surprising their article describes our atmosphere well.

That's it for this month, stay tuned for our ingame content, HUD, more map shots, and so on in our next update. Our team is pretty much complete, but an extra animator or experienced mapper would never hurt. If you think you'd make a fine addition to the Off Limits crew, drop us a mail at maarten@off-limits.be or simon.wt@telenet.be.
