Here it is, the new website! Our old design had been ripped so many times, I've lost count... but, you know what they say 'imitation is the highest form of flattery' or something like that.

What's a new website without some new media? Let's cut to the chase:

As you can see, this update contains mainly vehicles and a piece of conceptual art. We are still at the stage in development where the levels and artwork are a little rough around the edges still. We would rather wait to show the community in-game screenshots so that we don't show levels using Half-Life 2 textures or models (which there are a few as placeholders). We want to show our own content, and at the rate that we are progressing... it shouldn't be too long of a wait!

In the meantime, take a look around at the new site and read the updated information. As we have been progressing, we are beginning to narrow our goals down for the first public release of Insurgency. The Mod Tour will be updated shortly in roughly the same format as before so that fans, both new and old, can have a better understanding of the mod for 1.0.

Enjoy your stay and be sure to stop by the Forums!

One final note, we are still looking to hire a Weapons Animator and a Player Animator. Please read our requirements and application information here.

In our testing sessions we've seen Vaarscha's map Backyard pass by a few times, changing rapidly every build. Vaarscha has been working hard the past week to get the general picture done. The map offers a wide variety of different areas varying from open streets and basements to gritty, dimly lit stairways and dark apartments. This map is guaranteed not to bore quickly as it allows the players the freedom to apply their own tactics and insight to the same situation.

As always, these screenshots show early development and the map is still being worked on and will be spiced up in the future.

Who Are We?

The Somme Valley is a WW1 modification for Half-Life 2, based primarily around The Battle of the Somme, the infamous 1916 campaign launched by British and French troops, to releive pressure on the seige of Verdun. We strive for a mix between realism and playbility.. for example, you won't spend 1/2 of the game digging a trench or hiding from artillery, but if you get shot in the leg, you're going to have trouble walking.

A WW1 mod isn't just "boring, sitting in trenches, dying when you stand up", the war was based around a lot of small unit tactics, perfected by the French troops, who mind you were the only ones who captured their Day 1 objectives on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

Got some updated map shots for you all. Also fixed up the old images due to some odd pixalation errors. These shots now include some newer model updates and a tweaked skybox.

Related: Shadows of Winter
My name is Chris "Resvrgam" Fisk and I'm writing to announce some updates to our project/website - The Lost Prophecies: Shadows of Winter.

We have recently given our entire website a makeover to allow for more accessibility to members of the community who use Mozilla's Firefox browser. We're hoping this facelift will also capture the attention of those who have been following this project already with its aesthetic upgrade.

We have also included two new images depicting some of the in-game weapon models: the Kitchener's Knife & the Dirk and more imagery and information is planned to be released in the coming months.

On a more serious note; it has come to our attention that a certain website has been brought online to make attacks toward members of our team (mainly just me) and has provided information leaks (most of which are no longer relevant) regarding TLP: Shadows of Winter's storyline and game progression. These attacks have claimed that our project was stolen from this individual and that the hard work we have produced over the course of this project's inception has somehow been built upon his Intellectual Property - despite the fact that several members from the original team have continued work with this project without him. We're all too familiar with the plight of "great ideas that have been stolen from the little guy" but these accusations are clearly the work of fiction and do NOT represent a true account as to the events that have transpired during this project's inception and restructuring.

Members of our team, many of whom participated in the previous iteration of the project (including myself), have been offended by these clearly malicious and libelous remarks made by that individual. Legal action is being pursued on behalf of our entire team in hopes to cease further harassing actions and we apologize for any confusion this individual's actions may have caused.

I guess this is the trouble with the internet: it gives EVERYONE a soapbox to stand on.

In other news, the image gallery has been updated with a few models under the works for Commando. Below is a sneak peek:
YF-22 Lightning II

The YF-22 Lightning II is Brotherhood's most advanced tactical fighter, which was made available to the Brotherhood by the recent scandal involving US defence contractors.
M-72A2 LAW

Another weapon that Brotherhood acquired through the scandal was the M-72A2 Light Anti-tank Weapon, which fires rockets with 66mm High-Explosive antitank warheads.

Related: Dark Forces
Ten years ago, one man took on the Empire and saved the Alliance. Today being the 10th anniversary of the release of "Dark Forces" we
are announcing "Dark Forces Redux." The original "Dark Forces" by LucasArts was released in 1995 and for that time, was groundbreaking. It was this game that originally introduced us to characters such as Kyle Katarn, and Jan Ors who can now be found in titles such as "Jedi Outcast". Using todays technology, methods, and expertise, this total modification for the "source" engine is aimed at completely overhauling every aspect of the game. We will be essentially telling the same tale in all new ways. For those who remember the original, there will be a chance to immerse yourself in a completly new, yet familiar environment and those who never played, there will be a chance to relive a classic tale, with todays standards and technology.
  • More Weapons

  • Multiplayer

  • More Enemies

  • Smarter AI

  • Totally immersive environments

  • Including many more additions

I will be working with one of the original game developers to ensure that the this mod does not go out of the boundaries of the original
story. However, do not expect it to be the same exact game with new graphics. It will be a re·dux (rç-dŭks') "Brought back; returned. Used
post positively."

Community support will be essential to the mods' progression. Every aspect of feedback will be reviewed and considered. The road ahead is a long and challenging one, together we have the ability to recreate this classic.

"May the force be with you"
